Currently: June Edition

This month's Currently link-up is extra fun because Anne was kind enough to let me cohost with her! Yay! It seems like a lot of link-ups die out after awhile but I'm glad this one is still going and growing because I look forward to it every month. For any new faces stopping by, hello! :)

PLANNING: Blog posts, cleaning schedules, the week ahead, doctor's appointments, you name it! It feels good to have nothing major on our upcoming calendar. Just time to get organized. June is officially my put life back together month, in case my other posts haven't made that clear- haha!

WISHING: I wasn't in so much pain. I'm not sure what I've done, but I've been having major back/hip pain lately. It started right before vacation and I think I aggravated it even more while we were there. If it doesn't ease up soon I'm going to get it checked out. Fingers crossed this isn't a repeat hip injury :(

LEARNING: How to parent a toddler. I mean, I think I'll be trying to learn how to parent for the rest of my life, right? But T is changing so fast and all of a sudden I'm like, "Holy cow! I have a one-year-old and everything is so different!" There is always going to be something to learn, some new obstacle to make it through and I know it's going to keep me on my toes.

BROWSING: Magazines for home inspiration. I can't tell you the last time I let myself sit and flip through magazines but I did it this weekend and enjoyed every second of it. Lots more of RealSimple and HGTV browsing are in my future.

GOING: Hopefully nowhere ;) I told Jared that after vacation I was good with staying in the house for a solid month and just unpacking and settling and laying low. But with these beautiful summer days, I'm not sure how much I'll actually do that. We are due for another zoo trip, some pool days and walks at the park.

  1. Toddler age is so fun, but so challenging. You can see their personalities developing daily, but with that comes defiance, testing limits, and arguing. Alexander's favorite thing is when I want him to do something and he doesn't want to stop playing, he'll say "no, mommy sit. I play"

  2. You are due for some laying low and nothing major on the calendar, eh? Walks, zoo, and pool totally count for that though - that's some good low-key summer enjoyment. Even better if you get your home magazines next to the pool! But then again, that whole toddler mom thing.... Thanks for co-hosting with me this month!

  6. I love flipping through Real Simple, Martha Stewart, Southern Living...all of those design type magazines. I have subscriptions to them all, I just get a little behind sometimes. Hope that your back/hip pain goes away soon!!! Get in that huge new tub of yours with some epsom salts.

  8. Toddlers are the best, but I say that as an aunt :) When they start talking, moving and repeating everything - it's the cutest. Hope your pain goes away soon. Yoga has helped my hips so much.

  10. Oh yes, parenting a toddler is a whole new ball of wax isn't it? It's super fun, but can definitely be exhausting at times!

  13. I can be quite a homebody myself, so it's all good. I live right outside Cincinnati though and there is always something going on, I swear, so I do like to try and explore the city when I can. :)

I hope your back/hip pain isn't anything serious! I understand dealing with pain - it's not fun at all.

  14. Hope your hip pain gets better and that it's not serious. I'm trying to plan out my blog posts too. I think it will be super helpful come the busy summer. I'm constantly learning as a parent too. I think it's a non-stop process! I have an 11 year and almost 9 year old and every day is something new! Staying close to home and exploring the nearby attractions sounds like fun! Thanks for hosting!

  17. I don't blame you for just wanting to be in your new house for a while! I wish that I'd had a month off of work to just unpack everything!

  18. I'm jealous that you can have magazines in the house with a toddler underfoot! Last time I had a magazine, my kid ran off with it, and I found it a week later in the bottom of the toy box with crayon circles on every page.

  20. I'm so with you on the learning how to parent a toddler! My little guy is a year and a half and everything is so different!

  21. They change so fast, right? I feel like we're beginning to leave that toddler stage with my 3 1/2 year old, but I know it will come so quickly with my little girl who is 7 months old. Never a dull moment! I hope you get some rest and catch-up time this month!

  22. Oh, I want to stay home too!!!! We are off on a two-week trip starting this Sunday but I would love to be spending the next two weeks at home. Just finished school/work for the year and would like nothing better than time in my house.
Parenting a toddler, a middle schooler and a young adult are all such fun. But you survive. :)
    Thanks for the link-up.

  23. Toddlers will definitely keep you on your toes! ;) Here's hoping for not another hip injury, and yes to staying home and getting organized! I could follow your lead on that one for sure. :)

  24. I need to sit my butt down and write a currently post today!
I hope your back and hips feel better! It's no fun being in pain. Parenting a toddler is a whole level of different haha. Just like with a baby, when you think you've got it figured out, they change and you have to figure it out again. But toddlers are so stinking much fun too! We've been looking at house stuff on Pinterest but I'd love to hear what magazines you've been checking out for inspiration!
