Currently {December Edition}

Joining in with Anne and her co-host Kellie for this month's edition of the Currently series!

Doing- Too much online shopping. Not really too much, I guess, since everything I'm buying is a Christmas gift. It just feels like a lottttt all at once. I am just not someone who enjoys shopping all that much in general so if I can do it from my couch, you best believe I will!

Enjoying- How festive and cozy our house feels. Those suuuper early mornings with T are a little bit easier when I come downstairs and our tree is glowing over in the corner. Because yes, I typically leave it on all night and day, 24/7. You only get a month of it after all.

Cooking- Jared and I are on a spaghetti squash kick lately and have been making it a variety of ways. It's nice that it's so versatile and that you can add meat to your recipes or it can be a great meatless option too. Anyone have a favorite way to prepare spaghetti squash that they'd like to share? We are always looking for new ideas.

Wrapping- Nothing yet! I am excited that we stocked up on paper, gift bags and bows after Christmas last year though. I saved money and it was a fun little surprise to get them out of the storage bins this month.

Playing- Sudoku on my tablet (Grandma status) and lots of repetitive "games" with T each day. It's both amusing and boring that he loves to hear/see/do the same things over and over again. He's very into clapping hands (with my help of course) and playing peek-a-boo these days. Ahh, the simple life of a baby.

What are you currently doing??

  1. I also prefer online shopping versus in-store shopping. My packages have been starting to arrive so I can hopefully start wrapping this weekend. I stock up on paper and gift wrapping supplies at the end of the season as well so I'm prepared for Christmas next year!

  2. The tree really does help those early mornings! James always turns it on before I get out of bed, and it makes these cold mornings with a demanding toddler a little more bearable.

  3. Ditto to being home all day with the tree on, its the best!

  4. Caleb told me SO long ago he never wanted to try spaghetti squash because he didn't think it looked good, then he comes home the other day and said Jared's lunch looked so good and we should try making it. So I ask what it was and he says spaghetti squash?!?!? LOL. SO I might need to borrow a recipe from you! ;)

  5. I agree! I just can't seem to get enough of our Christmas tree and the warm fire place this year! And that's probably why I haven't finished all my shopping and wrapping! Yikes!

  6. I have a couple of spaghetti squash recipes that I'm really wanting to try!

  9. I love how cozy the whole house feels at Christmas, too! We even put a small tree in our bedroom and I love falling asleep with the lights on!

I attempted spaghetti squash once, and it was a disaster! I keep saying I'm going to try it again! So, I'm interested in an easy recipe!!

  12. I think that I'm going to successfully purchased all of my Christmas gifts online this year, and I'm so excited about it! It just beats dealing with all the crowds! And you're right waking up is a lot easier with all the Christmas decorations everywhere!

  14. Yes, the glowing Christmas tree is the BEST. Makes up for how dang early it gets dark these days... And sooo many boxes arriving to my house right now too. Though I might have done kind of a bad job of limiting that shopping to presents. Oops.

  15. I would sleep by the tree every night if I could! I always grab wrapping paper after Christmas for the next year too. I love being able to start wrapping as soon as the gifts arrive.

  16. I prefer online shopping too. And saving gift bags and tissue paper is such a relief the following year - saves money for me and I always have something to wrap a last minute gift with. We also leave our tree on all day, although I do turn ours off at night. I agree, that given we only have a month to enjoy it I don’t find anything wrong with leaving it lit. ;) Visiting from the currently linkup!

  18. We've done so much of our Christmas shopping on Amazon Prime this year. I hate going out to the stores this time of year unless it's just for window and decor shopping. And I have almost all my gifts purchased, but haven't started wrapping yet. I usually do it all in a few nights and have Christmas movie marathons. :)

  19. I've never actually made spaghetti squash, although I imagine I'd like it, because I pretty much love all squash. :P It's a good category of vegetable.

  21. I love lit trees - ours isn't decorated yet, and every year I'm like eh, maybe we should leave it as is.

  25. I love spaghetti squash. I haven't had any this season but they really are a great alternative to pasta.

  26. I'm about to do some last minute online shopping this weekend haha. We opted to make our lists early this year and then try to spread out the gifts over several paychecks. Except we only got a handful of things early and now I have to buy the rest at the last minute haha. We will work on it for next year! I love how cozy the house feels when it's fully decorated for the holidays! The one thing that makes me sad about getting a real tree is that you can't leave the lights on overnight. But, we have mini artificial trees for that ;)
