A Good Holiday

I'm not one of those people who is bummed when Christmas is over. I love Christmas and I soak in all the festiveness I can, but when December 26th rolls around? I am ready to take the decorations down and get ready for the new year. I'm ready for decluttering, new goals and high hopes for the coming year. That said, we had a pretty darn good Christmas. It was absolutely exhausting for all of us, T especially, but it was so great introducing him to the wonders of this time of year.

T did well with the long car rides, the wayyy too late nights and even the missed naps but it's definitely taking him a few days to recover. Poor little buddy has been sleeping SO much, he just looks worn out. Anyone else feel guilty dragging their kids all over creation for the holidays? =\ I'm sure it doesn't help that he is trying sooo hard to get those teeth to come in. Can't wait for those suckers to pop through already! But the craziness of it all was worth it and I love to see everyone loving on him, especially great-grandparents. WHAT a blessing it is to have them in his life.
T with his great-grandpa Pappy! :)

It's been a good couple of weeks. Seeing my people and laughing a lot. I've eaten entirely too much fudge and watched countless movies this holiday season. I've also been bad about taking pictures of anything other than T- haha, but I guess that's to be expected. This is the only picture of the 3 of us that we snagged all weekend... Christmas Day and T had already spit up on one outfit and was getting too hot in the other one so white onesie it was. #reallife

I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with family and friends over the past few days. Looking forward to stalking all of your photos and updates! I know this time of year blog word goes on somewhat of a hiatus but I have a few more posts this week I'm pumped to share. Cheers!

  1. Sounds like you had a good weekend celebrating with family! I know Zoe is all kinds of messed up and over stimulated from all the festivities of the weekend. Poor girl didn't even care about any of her presents. Love that you guys at least got a family picture! We totally failed at taking one. Hope you have a great week and get to recover some!

  3. Yes! I am ready to haul Christmas out of my house! I don't feel too bad about carting my daughter around because she seems to like going to new places (especially a place with LOTS of knick knacks like grandma's). However, her lack of napping and sleeping at night has this mama soooo tired. I'm ready for routine, too! I'm glad you all had a great holiday.

    1. Very true- T loves all the new faces and places, but after it's all said and done I just feel guilty seeing how tired he is! I hope you guys get back into a routine again soon :)

  4. That really is so awesome that T gets to know some of his great grandparents! It sounds like it was a whirlwind of a Christmas weekend for y'all, but totally worth it! And I can't believe that you already have all of your decorations down! Ours might end up staying up until January because we're just busy and lazy...

  6. I hear ya on the sleeping, my poor little 2 year old has spent the last few days with missed naps and late nights. She slept until 9am today and then took a 4 hour nap.

  8. We dragged our kiddos on a 9 hour road trip to stay with my parents in New York state. Charlie was in a perpetual state of exhausted craziness. I am so ready to settle back into our routine. (And if I'm being honest, we will 100% still be watching Elf, so Christmas isn't totally over ;) )

  12. It's been really nice to not have to worry about spitup or poop explosions like you do when the baby is really little. Jordan and I were just talking about that actually! I can tell that R is worn out. She hasn't been napping as well lately so she's extra tired when bedtime rolls around, but then she sits in her crib flipping the light on and off for a half hour and playing with her stuffed animals, so who knows! lol. I digress. Glad you had a great Christmas! It's so much fun with kids, like everyone said it would be :)
