Currently: November Edition

Another fabulous edition of the Currently link-up is happening today. This is always one of my favorites to participate in so you should check it out! Anne and her cohost Catherine would be happy to have you join in, so hop on over to their blogs already! ;)

Currently I'm...

Discovering: How much I love my Kindle Fire. I always thought I'd be a paper books only kinda' gal, but it's SO awesome and convenient to check out ebooks from the library this way. I get so pumped when I get a notification that there's one available for me. Plus, it's nice to have a little tablet I can use around the house for various other things. PS- Does anyone have a case for their Kindle that they love? I was eyeing this one and I might just ask for it for Christmas ;)

Celebrating: A new fresh month. I always love when a new month rolls around because it feels like I get a clean slate. It's the first full month without Jared coaching football so it'll be nice to have him around more again- I kinda' like the guy ;) Plus this month includes his birthday AND Thanksgiving so I'm pretty thrilled that November is here.

Starting: On new stickers for the holidays. It's hard to keep up some days but our Christmas and festive stuff is going to be done and in the Etsy shop soon!

Wearing: Some clothes I haven't fit into in months. Wahoo! It's taken 5 months but I'm finally back to pre-pregnancy weight and darnit, it feels good! Don't get me wrong, I'm still pretty eh... fluffy (?) but at least pants with zippers are fitting again.

Googling: All things baby food! We started T on solids last week and it has already been SO fun. I know technically they say to wait until 6 months- but he was just so hungry ALL THE TIME and our pediatrician gave us the go-ahead to start now. So I've been googling anything and everything about making baby food at home. Meal time is getting more fun and definitely messier over here ;)

Go link up and/or tell me what you're currently up to this month!

  2. I have a Kindle Fire and I actually recently charged it back up - forgot how much I love that thing!! I have a cute yellow case for it, from JC Penney, too! Can't wait to see the holiday stickers!!

  4. Don't have an official kindle but I have an app on my touchpad that is kindle like that I use and I'm still not 100% with it. Maybe eventually, and more so if they stopped making books (but I don't see that happening!)

  5. I love new months too, especially November. It is one of my top favorites! I have an iPad but I am with you on getting ebooks from the library and using the Kindle app. So perfect! Hope you guys have a great month! You will have to share your wisdom on baby foods.

  6. I made all home made baby food and loved it! I found a bunch of stuff on Pinterest! It was WAY cheaper to do it that way and I thought it was fun!

  7. YES I would never read library books if it weren't for my Kindle. (Going places is a lot of work, you know? Hahaha. And that's without a baby!) It is SO convenient.

  8. I couldn't get on board with the e-reader but I did download an app on my phone that lets me borrow ebooks which has been super helpful!

  10. Way to go on getting back to your pre pregnancy weight! I know that was tough! I really thought that I was going to be a paper copy person too, but I also love that I can read books from my nook on my phone too which makes things easy when I can't bring my iPad with me!

  11. With you on celebrating new months. I love the promise of the first, the new budget, the new planner/journal page. It just feels like a much-needed reset every time it rolls around!

Can't believe your little guy is starting on solid food already. Time flies!

  12. I am right there with you on the paper versus electronic books thing. I thought I would NEVER be anything but a paper books girl, but now I love my Kindle... mainly the Kindle app on my phone, because unlike my Kindle it lights up which means I can read while I'm rocking my kiddo to bed or waiting (semi) patiently for him to fall asleep.

  13. I lost all my pregnancy weight around 5 months too - and then it quickly came back after I stopped breastfeeding. wahhhhhh...... I.gotta.get.to.the.gym.now.

  14. I never thought I'd want an e-reader but since having my son I realize how helpful it'd be. I haven't been able to read since his birth. Holding a paper book just hasn't worked out while nursing!

  15. I still go back and forth between "real" books and a reader but it's so nice to have my reader when I'm traveling for sure. That first time back in zipped up pants is so nice!

  16. I had the best kindle cover a few years ago...it was leather and had a little light built in...no idea what is was called or where I got it haha. Most unhelpful comment....but yeah. Solid foods!!! Go T!!!! I love messy babies ;)

  17. YES Kindle! As an English major and editor, it's almost sacrilege how much I love mine, but I read soooo much more because of it. And those library downloads! I always have several on my requests list, and I am never without a book. The best.

And how fun to be starting some solid foods! I am not that into cooking, but I actually kind of loved making Hendrik's baby foods.

  21. Congratulations on reaching your pre-pregnancy weight! That's HUGE! I'm still not there this time after baby number two, but I haven't really buckled down either. Here's hoping I can get my proverbial ish together ;)

  22. My Kindle Fire is one of my most prized possessions. I'm not even kidding. I really get my money's worth out of it. I'm on my second one. I used to be a book girl but the Kindle is just SO convenient. I love it.

  24. I feel like I'd be a paperback only person, too....but the Kindle sounds SO tempting since you don't have to lug around an enormous hardback from the library :P And I wrote recently about our baby-food adventures! :) http://bit.ly/2bQ0HLt

  25. i can't make the switch to kindle. i just can't. i LOOOOVE holding a book in my hands, but i'm also that person who prefers CDs to MP3s.

  26. I started making my sons own food (pureed fruits and veggies) and that was when he was 4 months old. As long as your pediatrician okays it you’re good to go! Visiting from the Currently linkup!
