Bring on the Weekend

One of my Home Goods finds the other day.

Happy Friday, everyone! After surviving a miserable migraine last night I am SO ready for this weekend. I really don't get migraines very often, maybe a couple times a year but last night's was brutal. It started coming on around 3pm and I finally felt better around 8pm. Let me just say this- it's bad enough to have your head hurt, but trying to take care of a little baby while your head hurts? OMG. Here's to hoping I don't have to deal with that again for a very long time.

Jared and I have a free weekend, but also have some exciting things on the calendar for the next few days. Our neighborhood has a little Halloween fest that we plan to check out tomorrow. Am I a terrible person if we don't put T in a costume this year? I thought about getting him one but they are honestly too expensive for something he'll likely have on for a couple of hours this year. Heck, he goes to bed before Trick-or-Treating even starts and we don't have any parties to go to this year. If I see a cute pair of Halloween pj's I might snag those for him to wear but that's about it.

We also are having a contractor come out to the house to do some measurements for one of the house projects I mentioned we were getting started on. I am super pumped about the changes and updates that are to come! Other than those couple of things though, we are hoping for time to get some fall yardwork done, drop off more donation boxes (YES!) and do some major meal prepping. By the way, I made these baked chicken tenders this week and they were phenomenal.

Are the temperatures jumping back up again where you live? We've had temperatures down in the 60s all week but the next few days we're going right back up to 80. Ohio, you are so weird. ;) Today's post is short and sweet because I've got a squishy little boy to play with and then a coffee date to get to. Enjoy your weekend, friends!

  2. Ugh, migraines! Hopefully you wont see anymore of those!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to get a costume this year. Those things are totally expensive and he's a cutie no matter what he is wearing so there is no need until he actually starts enjoying it. I think most babies hate those costumes, no? The weather here has been in the 80s for the last two weeks now, but I saw next weekend we are supposed to drop to the 70's and I couldn't be more excited!!! Hope you enjoy your weekend!

  3. All of my boys were newborns at Halloween and I never bought them costumes . I have a skeleton sleeper that they all have worn for their "first Halloween" ..

  4. If you want to splurge, maybe get him a themed onesie. Connor's 2nd Halloween (but the first he could dress for since he was a day old year one) was a Superman footed pj set. He wore it as pajamas long after Halloween.

  5. I think Halloween pjs or a cute Halloween tee shirt are a great idea for a first Halloween. My birthday is 4 weeks before Halloween, so my parents did the same thing on my first Halloween. I hope you enjoy your relaxing weekend and that migraines stay away!

  9. The temps here jumped again too. It was all nice & cool & now it'll be back in the high 80s/low 90s the next few days & then back down to the 60s/70s. I don't think it's bad that you're not dressing him up this year. Like you said costumes/baby clothes are expensive & he won't be in them for long or trick or treating.

  11. We're supposed to get frost tonight, and they're forecasting eighties for next week. I'll admit, I couldn't be more thrilled! Sounds like you are going to have a fun weekend! That's exciting about house projects. I was sick this week and was so miserable and was actually wondering how moms with little ones survive when they're sick! I'm glad you're feeling better!

  12. Those chicken tenders look delicious, I've made the Pioneer Woman's a few times and they are incredible...but also breaded & fried so not even a little bit healthy. I've seen some super cute skeleton or sports team uniform sleepers serve the first Halloween costume purpose and it totally works. I hope your migraines stay away for a long time and you're able to enjoy the weekend!

  14. I'm 100% with you on the Halloween costume. It would be fun to take pictures, but it was not worth the money. I'm not dressing Gracie up this year either. Oh well :)
