And That's Life {Volume 2}

Last week I did a post in this format and a couple of you mentioned you liked it (thanks!) so I thought I'd do it again this week. It's a nice way to sum up my week, I think, and the categories don't always have to be the same of course. If you're looking for a way to write your Friday posts feel free to do the same. :)

Football Life: Since the Bengals had the Thursday night game last week, it feels like it's been a month since they've played! I read this article yesterday about how the NFL's ratings were dropping and found it fairly interesting. They mention a few possible explanations for the lower ratings but I feel like a lot of it might have to do with the over-saturated market; while I love football, it's true that three nights a week of NFL is a lot. Thoughts??

Home Life: I mentioned earlier this week that we are starting some home projects and I'm pretty excited about them. Updating our bathrooms is one of the top things on our list so I've been on Pinterest a LOT more lately looking for ideas and styles that we like. It made me realize 1) I missed Pinterest! 2) I need to reorganize/update those boards and 3) You should follow me on there!

Blog Life: I seem to be settling into a routine of 3 blog posts a week and I'm okay with that. When I was working full-time it was easy for me to type up a blog post or respond to comments over my lunch break but now that I'm home all day I find it harder to sit down at the computer. I really have a lot of posts in the works and things I'm excited about writing but I need to figure out how to manage my free time better!

Health/Fitness Life: Jared and I have been doing a DietBet for the past few weeks and it has definitely been the kick in the pants I needed. I'm eating healthier and eating more often, which is a good thing. Another thing about being home all day with a baby is that I realized I'd go half the day without eating anything or skipping lunch, etc. And then come dinner I'd be starving and just want to eat EVERYTHING. Having healthy foods I can snack on during the day has definitely helped; even if I don't feel like I can sit down and make a full meal I have lots of 'grab and go' options.

Momma Life: We've definitely got some teething going on in this house. No signs of teeth yet but the drool has amped up and T is always cramming his fingers into his mouth. We have a few teethers that I've offered him but they seem too big/awkward for him to actually hold and use. Suggestions?

Can you guys forgive me that most of my posts don't have photos these days? #bloggerprobz ;) I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend ahead of them!

  1. There are times I totally forget about Pinterest then I'll get on there and its like you can't get me off. Can't wait to see what you are going to do with your bathrooms :)

  2. Yay for home projects! When I'm home all day I'm the same way. I won't always eat because I'll be too consumed with other things & then suddenly I want to eat all the things.

  3. That happens to me every time I'm home for the day, I forget to eat lunch or breakfast. Just because I don't have that structure of a work-day, it screws me up! Oh I didn't know that about the NFL ratings! I'll have to read that article! While I do love football, 3 nights of NFL is a lot, but I wish that it would be 3 days in a row, rather than spreading it all out between 5 days with TNF, Sundays and MNF!

  4. Will you still be my friend if I tell you I've never been a big Pinterest person? I've recently been pinning things though and I'm starting to see what all the fuss is about :)

I saw a mom on you tube mention this teething mitten. Wish I had heard about it when mine were little. Seems like a good product -

  5. look up amber teething necklaces. I swear by it. My son wore one from 3-4months up until he was about 2 1/2 yrs old and we never had any issues with teething!

  6. I would recommend the munch mitt. The yellow one is made for babies as little as T. The other colors are for bigger babies.

  7. Exciting about the home projects. And woohoo for getting back into your healthy lifestyle, it's so important to the well being of the mind to be finding food that nourishes you and doesn't make you crash. Keep up the great work!

  8. I thought Leah was teething like 6 months before she actually got teeth. haha. So you never know...he could be getting them - or he could just be drooling. Leah never liked to chew on anything but that Sophie Giraffe.

  9. I was looking on Pinterest the other day and thought that I needed to clean up and organize everything. It is an overwhelming, daunting task though because I have way too many boards/pins! I have been using it since it first came out and well yikes! I think three nights of NFL a week is too much. I am not game for games that come on days other than Sundays. Teething already? Oh man! Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  10. I promise you I am not a hippy Mom so when I say use a teething necklace, I mean it. I often give them as gifts at showers because I love them so. Connor was a horribly teething baby but that helped and eased so many of the concerns/side effects of teething. Give it a try. Promise it's worth it.

  11. Every time I get on Pinterest I think about how I should use it more...then I never do. I really should! You're inspiring me! :)

  12. I am so intrigued by DietBet! I've never done it but you're the second or third person I've read about who is participating!

  13. Our current favorite teethers for the no teeth yet/chew on everything/drool fest are Sophie the giraffe, any Dr Brown teether and our #1 fave is the Baby Banana teether https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Banana-Training-Toothbrush-Teether/dp/B002QYW8LW/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1475887241&sr=8-1&keywords=banana%2Bteether&th=1

  15. Jack was the same way with tethers being too big for him! The only thing that worked for him was me wearing one of those teething necklaces that he could grab and chew on..that seemed to help!

  16. I heard the same article being discussed on the radio and it was interesting to me too. Three nights is a lot for sure. Even college football is expanding now, it's on Saturdays but some Fridays and always a Sunday game. Too much!

  18. I totally agree about how long the wait feels from Thursday night football to Sunday late afternoon game. I had a dream that Friday was Sunday and I was so disappointed when I realized when I woke up that I had to wait two more days for football.

I just followed you on pinterest. I also need to update my boards. We have also been pondering house renovations and pinning up a storm. We have an accepted offer on a house (our first one!) and have been considering how we might fix it up. Hoping to close right after Thanksgiving.

For drooling/teething, have you checked out Copper Pearl bibs? Amanda from Lady Okie recommended and I added them to our registry. They have been lifesavers for spit up/drool. I'm amazed at how soft, absorbent, and cute they are!

  19. Three nights a week is kind of a lot. We don't have cable so we can't watch MNF, and 2 nights is totally fine for us!
