The Floor is Yours

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Jared has loads of vacation days to spare so he's been spreading them out to take long weekends here and there and he's off today- hooray! I love when all 3 of us are home together and I'll take any extra days I can get. Life just seems pretty perfect when we're together :)
I seriously cannot wait for T to fit into his Bengals gear that's hanging in his closet!!!

While I'm eager to jump back into the blogging world, I'm having trouble sitting down and actually thinking about what I want to write and what I want to share. I don't want my blog to turn into a 'mommy blog' (not that there is anything wrong with those!) but being a mom is kindof my whole world right now. I don't have my normal weekend happenings to recap, I definitely haven't discovered any new recipes to share (what's cooking?!) and without being at my office job- my life looks pretty different at the moment. Zero complaints from me, but what's a girl to blog about?

I'm opening up the floor to you all... PLEASE, ask away, suggest topics, you name it! All my awesome readers are a huge part of why I want to continue to show up week after week so if there is something you want me to blog about- don't be shy! Comment and let me know :)
Just for fun- a silly throwback picture we took exactly 1 year ago today ;)

PS- If you don't follow my Etsy shop's Instagram account yet, please consider doing so. My partner and I have been working SO hard on a lot of new things that we've released recently or that are coming to the shop very soon. We also have an exciting giveaway that will launch soon- you won't want to miss out!

  2. I actually want to read more about your little man. How are things going momma? I was on vacation all last week at home with my little guy and it was the best week ever. It was so depressing to come back to work.

  3. Awwww such a cute family!!!!!! :) I think it is totally fine to talk about how being a mom is going here and there because it is your life right now and you are a lifestyle blogger. Blog land has been slow lately, and not many people are posting near as much as they used to so perhaps everyone is down on ideas and creativity.

  5. I want to read about Sallie and Perkins, how we stayed out of debt while getting ready for another little human! Loved the Sallie and Perkins posts.

  6. How did you and Jared meet? I'd love to read more about your love story!

  7. I always thought that your posts about how you're saving and paying off your loans were so interesting! You could always talk about how that's applying to your life now!

  8. I already have your pregnancy stickers pinned for as soon as I get pregnant!!!

  9. Just followed your IG shop!

I agree with Ashley - Sallie & Perkins update! How has having a baby changed how you operate financially?

  10. I wouldn't mind at all if you shifted toward "mommy blog" territory...even if it's just for a little while while you adjust and find your new niche! I'm 30 weeks pregnant today, so that might have something to do with it, but I love birth stories and would be so interested to hear how your delivery went if you feel like sharing.

  11. I want to read about your adjustment into motherhood! I love seeing how other moms deal with it. You just write about whatever you want, and don't worry if that's motherhood. Everyone understands and we want to hear what you have to say!

  12. How cute is your little family?! I really wouldn't mind more pictures of the little guy, but I know what you mean about turning into a "mommy blog."

  13. I know I'm totally biased because I'm so pregnant right now (31 weeks and feeling ginormous) but I'd love to hear as much as you're willing to share about your birth story and life with a newborn. What are some of your favorite products for Tyler? I'd love to hear about how you and Jared are balancing responsibilities at home. How have you adjusted your spending with the baby? I know you won't be a mommy blog forever but this is your new normal right now and I want to hear about it-- even if it is a brief random anecdote during naptime. :)

  15. What about a day in the life? You will love looking back and seeing what maternity life was like.

  16. No shame in becoming a mommy blog girl. It's your blog, your life, your memories. Blog about what is important to you. So I say more baby pics. ;)

  17. Waiting for the birth story still!

Also, how did you guys pick his name?? I always like hearing how people choose a baby name, as I am a nameberry freak!

    1. I'm definitely trying to find the words to write about his birth. Maybe before he's 2 months old I'll get to it- lol! Also, his name is Jared's middle name!!! :)

  19. I'm probably a mom blog.... I don't know. What makes it a mom blog? I blog a lot about R and show pictures, but it's like, I share a currently post and she was around so she's included in my currently! Does that make it a post about my baby? QUESTIONS. Anyway, now that I have a baby I'm actually really interested in baby posts so bring them on! Orrrr... another S&P update? Orrrrr... remember my post about Unpopular Book Opinions? (http://www.theladyokieblog.com/2016/05/unpopular-book-opinions.html) Maybe answer these!

  20. I would love to know about your thought process behind sharing photos of your little babe on your blog, and stories about him. I know a lot of bloggers have decided not to share photos, names, etc. and I find it very helpful to hear from all perspectives. I did notice that you watermarked the photo of him, so it makes me curios. Glad you are all doing well!

  21. I always love a good day in the life post!! I hope you are settling in well to life as a family of three! Tyler is the CUTEST little guy!!

  22. Just write about it all! How you're adjusting, what your days look like, stuff like that! I'm learning that it's totally possible to blog about your life as a mom without becoming a mommy blogger.

  23. i think you should write about whatever you are thinking/feeling/going through. i think a mommy blog vs hello i just became a mom and i used to have a blog are two different things. nothing wrong with blogging about what is going on in your life! you are financial gurus, perhaps a saving money when it comes to baby post?
