Confession Session

I'm pretty sure I was supposed to post this and link-up yesterday, but this week has totally gotten away from me! Hopefully Nadine will still accept my link, even though it's late. It's amazing I even know what day of the week it is most time, I swear.

Confession... I am obsessed with watching my belly move and feeling my babe kick around in there. He's most active in the evenings when I'm just relaxing and I cannot get enough of it! I already get sad thinking about how much I'll miss it once he's here, but I'm sure having him in my arms will be pretty great too ;)

Confession... I feel pretty "checked out" of work at this point. Sure, I'm still getting all my work done and hanging in there the best I can... but my mind is pretty all over the place most days. I have to train 4 new people next week and just thinking about that exhausts me.

Confession... I cannot WAIT to go on maternity leave. This little boy can't come soon enough!! Since he's been measuring a little bit ahead of schedule, I have it in my head he'll be here early- only time will tell if I'll actually be right, but I just have this gut feeling I won't make it to my due date.

Confession... Starting next week I see my doctor every single week until delivery. I'm so excited! Honestly, I feel very calm and at peace about labor/delivery and just can't wait to see my son. I truly have no worries or fears, just ready to get this party started haha.

Confession... I just realized all my confessions are baby-related so far, which was unintentional. But hey, I've got a pretty one-track mind these days.

Confession... Our nursery is super close to being done and ready. I'm looking forward to sharing pictures of it on here, eventually! It's finally all really coming together.

Confession... Everyone tells me to get my rest right now but can you really stockpile rest and sleep? I don't think you can. So, I've been staying up later than I should- but for good reason. NBA Playoffs! Anyone else following along/have a team still playing?

Confession... I had cereal for dinner one night this week and it was the best thing in the world.

Confession... I have swollen feet at the end of every day, have gained more weight than I wanted to while pregnant and haven't been working out consistently in months. And you know what? That's okay! #realpreggotalk

I think I dumped enough random pregnant lady stuff on y'all for one day- but whew, there was a lot I just needed to get out there ya know? Hope everyone's having a great week so far. Thank goodness the weekend is on the horizon!

  1. Cereal for dinner is THE BEST. Really, anything breakfast for dinner makes me so happy. Like a little kid again or something. And you might as well do the pregnancy/baby related confessions now! Someday you're doing to totally read these back and be like "AWWWW." I'm so excited for you, and I hope he comes early ;) xo MorningApple

  4. My best friend is a week or so away from her baby coming. She's done at this point, her poor feet! I'm excited for you!

I love a low key dinner at least one day every week...cereal, avocado toast, brownies...LOL

  5. I've heard it is common for first time mommas to delivery early. Though, I was my mom's first...and came 9 days late. So...maybe that's not a good theory after all :) Anyway, best of luck on getting to that maternity leave and baby goodness as soon as possible! Can't wait to hear the good news that he's arrived :)

    1. Really? I've always heard that first-time babies always come late! Of course mine was a week and a half early so there's that ;)

  6. The idea of training somebody before I left for maternity leave would stress me out too! And I can't believe that it's almost time for your maternity leave! Your little guy is going to be here before you know it!

  7. Umm duh, I leave that link up live for almost a week so everyone can get their posts in :) I totally had cereal for dinner last night. No shame in that game!!! I would totally be checked out at work right now too. I love that you are calm and at peace about labor and delivery.

  8. I was sure my first was coming early too... and I ended up being induced a week late. In my experience, babies never go according to plan! Haha! I hope, for your sake, you're right on your little guy!

Also, I WISH I was still enjoying the NBA Playoffs. Stupid Pacers... :(

  9. I don't blame you for being checked out! I would too! And training new people... ugh. Cereal for dinner sounds amazing! I could eat it for every meal! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  10. I had a gut feeling my daughter would be two weeks early and she was... to the day! There's your mom-instincts kicking in. I can't wait to see how your nursery is coming along! -xx Leah || Chasing Texas

  12. The Blazers are my team and of course they're out as of last night. But before the season started all the analysts said they wouldn't make it to the playoffs and they'd win like 26 games, but they made it to round 2 and are the only team to beat the Warriors more than once (so far)! So I'm still happy.

I am so excited for your boy to be here!!! Such an exciting time.

  13. Yay! I love your confessions. Today I had a major moment when the scale said that i was up like 9 pounds in the past week . I drank a TON of water yesterday so I'm thinking it is a fluke... I'm also trying to be kind to myself. I had an idea of how much weight I hoped to gain and as a first time mom, you just can't predict or plan. Do you have a sense of the kind of birth you're hoping for? I'm always curious to hear how different women are approaching birth-- especially for the first time. You're getting so close! Yay!

  14. I can totally understand why you're pretty much checked out from work! Gary had cereal after dinner one night - to top it off LOL! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  15. I love that most of your list was pregnancy related confessions ;) YAY for cereal for dinner. That's the best, ha!

  16. I think we're going to have to resort to cereal for dinner soon as I'm refusing to buy groceries until we get our "new" fridge figured out (fridge is freezing everything and frozen lettuce is not fun). But if its good cereal that's all that matters!

  17. I JUST wrote a whole blog post about how much it annoyed when people told me to "sleep now!" cause all that sleep I got while I was pregnant sure isn't helping me now!! haha!

I can't wait to see the nursery!! And yes- while I miss the baby kicks and wiggles in my belly, having them in your arms is pretty perfect :)

  18. You can't save up on sleep but you're going to wish you could at some point.

I thought I would miss the kicking and moving too but I think I was too busy being in love with K to even remember that stuff until much later.

  20. Can't wait to see the nursery pics!

  21. Make sure you take videos of your belly moving! I love looking back at them now that I have the girls in my arms!

  22. I can't wait to see your nursery :) I'm sure it's gorgeous!

  23. I would be worried if this wasn't all baby this and baby that. As a first time Momma, it's what you do... it's all about baby. Which will be the case when he comes too. It's just how it all works.

  24. I LOVE having cereal for dinner, it's the best!

I really cannot believe you're so close to having your baby boy already. It just seems like last week you told folks you were with child. I'm really excited for you! :)

  25. You most definitely can't stockpile the sleep, as much as I wish you could lol. I loved to stay up late and then sleep in because those won't be happening for awhile ;) I had a gut feeling that Mav was coming early and he did by 2 weeks. Funny thing about mom intuition is that it's usually right :) I'm so excited for you!!

  27. I'm getting so very excited for you!! SO CLOSE! :) Also, cereal for dinner is 100% okay in my book.
