Currently: April Edition

It's time again for one of my favorite monthly link-ups. The "Currently" posts are some of my favorite to write and favorite to read as well; I feel like I actually get to sit down with all my long-distance bloggy friends (and meet new ones!) and see what everyone else is up to this month. Link up with Anne and Jenna to join in the fun. Currently I am...

Making: Meal plans and actually sticking to them- I'm determined! I mentioned Monday that meal planning has taken a back seat in our house so I'm ready to get back on track. This work-week we're making Chicken Taco Chili, burgers, a Spinach/Veggie Quiche and we'll have plenty of leftovers for a night or two as well.

Wishlisting: A few things here and there. My birthday is this month but I've honestly pushed it aside a bit as my brain seems to be in baby mode at all times. People have been so generous already with baby gifts so it's hard to think of myself. I do have an Amazon wishlist I add to whenever I think of something random I'd like; otherwise, I'll forget. My most recent adds have been bamboo cutting boards and some more stoneware for our kitchen. You know you're old when...

Cleaning: Ev-er-y-thing. The spring cleaning bug has definitely hit us and Jared and I both are enjoying the process, oddly enough. We are tackling things little by little and continue to drop off donation boxes on a regular basis. I truly wonder if we'll ever get to a point where we're done donating? It's sad how much unused stuff has sat in our house for so long, but it's great to see it leave! PS- there are adorable spring cleaning stickers in our Etsy shop if you're interested!

Posting: As much as I can! Spring always seems to be my favorite time to blog. The changing weather (although often confusing in Ohio) and the flowers that are trying to bloom just signal to me that it's a new time of the year and my creativity seems to come out more. I've got dozens and dozens of posts in my draft but never enough time to do them all! ;) Hashtag blogger problems, right?

Tasting: Okay- confession session. Orange soda. Since I've tried to limit my caffeine while pregnant (I miss you Mt. Dew) I've been feeling water-ed out lately. I drink SO MUCH water every day that I need a little sweet treat from time to time, alright?! Orange soda- which I typically don't drink has been my go-to. Even though it's sugary at least it's caffeine-free.... Judge away.

Happy Wednesday everyone! What are you Currently up to??

  1. I bought some orange La Croix this week because someone told me it tasted like Sunkist. While I would stretch that far, it is hitting the spot! Those cleaning stickers are so cute! And who doesn't want bamboo cutting boards?! Yay birthday month!!!

  2. Meal planning really is so difficult to keep up with because it takes so much planning, but I love when we actually do it! This week we cooked so much more than usual, and I love the fact that I always have something yummy to eat at home so I'm not tempted to go out to eat. Giving up Diet Dr Pepper while I'm pregnant is going to be a bit struggle for me, so you drink your orange soda! I would probably be all watered out too!

  3. I had the same caffeine problem while pregnant so I drank grape soda to get my not water fix, it's weird because now water is all I drink.

I did drink caffeine on find out the sex of the baby ultrasound day, I wanted to make sure she was good and awake so we could see what she was. :)

  5. You enjoy that orange soda!

    Those cutting boards look awesome.

I am so enjoying getting rid of stuff right now. I'm even ready to let not favorite books of mine go.

  6. Mmm. I used to drink orange soda with breakfast in college & say it was OJ. So, no judgement.

I really need to start an Amazon wishlist. I always think of little things it would be nice to have, forget about them & then when it's time for my birthday or Christmas can't think of anything I want.

  7. Hahaha...I cracked up at "You know you're old when..." I have the same thought whenever I find myself lusting over a vacuum cleaner or something for our apartment. Why do my birthday lists never feature anything COOL anymore? No judgment from me on the Orange Soda. Giving up soda seems nearly impossible to me - I've tried to cut back big time and it's such a struggle.

  11. No judging! I had to pull out the Sprite sometimes when I was pregnant to keep things interesting when other people got to have cocktails... And I've got the spring cleaning bug over here too, even though it's still snowing in these parts. Good time to stay indoors and get stuff done I guess.

  12. Haha I know what you mean by "You know you're old when..." Most of my wish lists these days are things for the house and mainly the kitchen haha! And girl, enjoy that orange soda! You deserve it!

  14. I love how many comments are related to the orange soda. I also felt compelled to comment on that! Like you, I don't drink coffee so that part of pregnancy hasn't been so bad but I have totally had the bored-of-water feeling. Last week I made some impulse purchases at the grocery store and one of them was to buy mango puree. It is definitely just as sugary as soda but I have this idea that I'll add some to my sparkling water for a little more flavor. I haven't actually done it yet. TBD if it is delicious or horrible. :)

  17. No judgement on the pop, I drank coffee while I was pregnant (and nursing) because it was the only way to make it through the day sometimes. My midwife okay'ed it so I wasn't worried!

Spring is fabulous, I get in a "donate-happy" mood and clear out as much as I can. Drives my husband crazy sometimes so I try to donate it while he's at work or gone for the weekend haha.

So close to baby time! I'm so excited for you :)

  19. If wanting/liking bamboo cutting boards makes you old, then I don't want to be young! Ha, they're sooo pretty!

So for Easter I got something for Freddie off of his Amazon wishlist. He was like, "You looked at my wishlist?!" Me, "Yes, that's what they are for.." Him, "But I have stuff for you on there!"

    Ha! Lame.

  20. I would drink green tea when I was pregnant. There's caffeine in it but I would have it every once in a while, not daily and it was the best splurge ever.

Small shops are the best, I'm glad you've been so successful with your shop!! (Stalked your etsy btw) and I feel the same about water!! I bet you're fine to drink that and I am sure baby isn't mad about it :) haha I miss the days when I loved water! It really got boring for me, too!
