Friday Five {Baby Edition #2}

Happy Good Friday! I am so excited to kick off this holiday weekend and spend some quality time with Jared. At the end of February I themed my Friday Five post around all things baby and that might be a theme I continue for the next couple of months. A nice, tidy little way to sum up anything that's been going on in this crazy whirlwind they call pregnancy. Since 4 weeks have passed since the last official update I feel like there is lots of news and changes going on!

{ ONE } This week I officially started my third trimester. I've been taking some bump photos here and there, mostly on my phone and mostly in the work bathroom because it's the only big mirror I have access to. By chance, I wore the same maternity shirt for my 18 and 28 week pictures. Whoa, belly! That thing is large and in charge these days. This week the doctor actually told me little man is measuring in about 2 weeks ahead currently. Yikes!

{ TWO } Glucose test- I passed! I had the orange drink which was not bad at all. Like, I didn't love it but it was completely tolerable and went down easily. I was more nervous about the blood draw and the Tdap shot I got that same day, but luckily all went well with those. They did however determine that I'm anemic so I'll be taking an extra iron supplement to hopefully get those numbers up.

{ THREE } My in-laws generously purchased the chair for our nursery and we'll be getting it delivered today! This was the last big item we needed for his room so I'm excited about having it in place. Once it's in there we can really start on the fun parts of decorating and making the room a perfect place for him. I've got some crafty ideas up my sleeve and I'm hopeful I'll be able to DIY a couple things.

{ FOUR } I got the invitations to both our baby showers in the mail last week which was incredibly surreal, but so exciting! After years of having our fridge covered with other people's baby showers invites, it's pretty cool to see your own name on one :) April is going to be a FUN month.

{ FIVE } Picking out HIS NAME. Jared and I have shared/will be sharing the name with family members, it's not a huge secret or anything but I don't know if I plan to share it publicly on the blog or not. At this point I don't know what I'm comfortable sharing so I'm keeping the name off the internet for as long as possible. It feels awesome to have a name for our little boy though! I cannot wait to see what he looks like♥

Have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter, everyone!!

  1. You look amazing for hitting the 3rd trimester!! I also measured 2 weeks ahead and G was only 7 lbs at 4 days overdue, so just never know :) YAY for having all the big nursery things done! It's so much fun when it all comes together. And BIGGER YAY for passing the glucose test! I also thought it wasn't bad at all, but I nearly made myself sick wondering if I passed or not, and OF COURSE the office never called and I had to call several times to find out. I'm sure they loved me.

  3. I still haven't shared K's name on my blog or publicly on the net, I'm still not comfortable with it.

LOVE the chair and you will too!

  6. Your bump is so stinking cute, lady! Glad the glucose test went well and you passed, woohoo! That chair looks so comfy, what a great gift.

You do you when it comes to sharing [or not sharing] his lil name. whatever makes you feel safe and good is what makes sense, don't worry about us.

  8. Look at that cute bump!!!! That chair looks so comfy!! Much cooler than the old looking rockers that were in the nurseries of all us 80's kids. I don't blame you for keeping the name private for awhile. There are several bloggers that I follow that refer to their kids as "k" and keep minimal photos online. You go what you gotta do! How exciting your showers are coming up!!! Before you know it, that little man will be making his big entry in to the world! Hope you guys have a fabulous Easter!

  10. I wore the same shirt in every bump pic I took every week. It's fun to see a true comparison with the same shirt. You look great! I'm glad things are going well and that you have a name! So fun. I obviously am a fan of keeping baby names off the blog but it's really what you're comfortable with :) you're going to have a baby so soon!

  14. So glad you passed the glucose test! I HATED that drink.... but I almost never drink anything sugary so that's probably why I hated it so much. Yay for showers and the glider too!

I do hope you share his name, only because I want to know, but totally understand if you don't. So glad you have one picked out you love!

  15. You're seriously one of the cutest pregnant ladies ever! I love how you're wearing the same shirt in those pictures because it's awesome to see how much the little guy has grown! Hooray for getting your shower invites and for picking out his name! My friend wouldn't tell us her baby's name until after she was born, so I completely understand not wanting to share just yet. Have a great Easter!

  17. How exciting you've settled on a name! He's such a lucky little boy. My sister-in-law asked me how it felt to have some evidence of a bump and I told her I didn't feel much different that just feeling kinda fat and bloated. When I put on weight, I put it on in my tummy so this feels like I've been overindulgent. Ha! Does your adorable and totally legit bump feel more real or does the kicking make it feel that way? :)

  18. I am seriously so excited for you two. Keep the baby updates coming - I can't wait to (hopefully) learn his name eventually!!

  20. First of all, you are adorable. :)

Secondly, I cannot wait to see pictures of his room all done & decorated...maybe with his name hidden somewhere for me to find. Tee hee!

  21. YAY to all of this! Passing the glucose test, the glider (love) and choosing a name!!! We still have no idea and are probably going to end up making a game time decision, poor kid lol! Did you feel any side effects from the TDAP vaccine? I'm getting mine next week and heard it can sometimes cause flu like symptoms?! Blahhh!

  22. Woooohoooo for picking out a name!! You look great, per usual!

  23. Ah, having the name picked out is so exciting! We kept it from almost everyone - it was fun to have it be our own for a while first. And isn't the side-by-side photo comparison fun? Just wait until 38 weeks :) You look adorable.

  24. You are the cutest! Can't believe you're so close now :) I'm sure he has the sweetest name! I really didn't think the glucose test was that bad either. I was anemic for about half my pregnancy and taking extra iron took care of it! I love the photo comparison! I accidentally did that too but forgot to do it in the 30s haha.

Oh, I added you on snapchat awhile back but forgot to let you know. Hopefully that's not weird haha
