Friday 5 {Baby Edition}

Sweet Friday- it's good to see you. I've got a lot of weekend fun planned and I am so looking forward to the next few days. Hopefully the snow from yesterday is gone and the report of temperatures in the high 50's and maybe even 60's is correct for this weekend. As I was drafting up this post of all the highlights of this week everything seemed to turn baby-related so I figured I'd run with it.

ONE - I had my 24 week appointment Wednesday and everything is on track and healthy for baby and me both. He's measuring just slightly ahead of schedule, maybe a week- but nothing to be concerned about at this point. I've gained 11 pounds total, get heartburn after eating just about anything, still trying to walk about 4-5 days a week, feeling excited- really can't complain! Next appointment brings the infamous glucose test- can't wait to see what all that fuss is about.

TWO - Also this week we took dinner over to Jared's grandma one night. She requested Skyline Chili which we were happy to pick up. She made this beautiful blanket for our little one and I couldn't love it more.

The colors are so perfect for our ocean-themed nursery and the yarn is so, so soft. I just love this treasure from our baby's great-grandmother. How cool is that, seriously?! We had a nice visit with her, lots of stories were told and I told her I'd try to have the baby on her 88th birthday which is just a few days before my due date ;)

THREE - I've been feeling kicks and punches for a couple of weeks now pretty consistently and Jared has caught a couple here and there. I swear, this little dude must sense when it's Jared because he'll stop moving completely. Playing tricks already ;) However- one night this week out of no where I got a huge jab to the belly and actually SAW my stomach move. It startled me, it was so much more pronounced than any other movement so far. Pretty crazy/weird/cool all combined.

FOUR - Our wedding photographer recently offered us a free maternity "mini-session" if we are interested! I did a favor for her back in the fall and she wanted to pay me back so to speak. I honestly didn't think we would get maternity photos done at all just because they're so pricey and I wasn't sure if I'd really want them. But since they are free and it's just 30 minutes, I think we'll take her up on this offer in a couple months when I'm bigger. But not too big.

FIVE- When your BFF is also pregnant and texts you to, "go outside and make Jared take a picture of your belly in the snow. It's so pretty!" you just listen. I'm hopeful this was the last big snow of the season so I'm glad we ran out to the back deck and snapped a few pictures just for fun.
Let's be honest- I'm just not good at pictures! ;)

I hope everyone has a great weekend planned! I know I do :)

  1. BELLYYYY!!!!! It is becoming so real. Eek!!! I love how their grandma always makes those blankets. I so treasure the one she made me for my shower! I'm obsessed with it. Girl, a free maternity session? You can't turn it down. I still plan on somehow talking you both into letting me snap a few of you when it gets warmer, too, FYI. Deal. ;)

  3. Love every last part of this!!! Those movements are the best and the coolest - Ziggy is totally the same with Jason, as soon as his hand is on my belly he goes still. Such a pill! You look adorable and I'm so happy everything is going as it should and you're feeling good! :)

  4. I remember watching my belly move endlessly when I was in the later stages of my pregnancy with K. I also felt like I was in some weird movie where an alien was living in my body and I could see it moving under my skin. hahaha

I love the snow picture, I wish I had taken more bump pictures!

  10. Adorable! We did a mini session (with Jax!) for maternity photos, though I hadn't really planned on them either, but it turned out to be really fun - I think you'll like it! Ours were a little early though - I was barely showing. I'd go for about 30 weeks :) Have a good weekend!

  11. I'm probably one of the only ones that says the glucose test wasn't that bad. I hate needles so of course I passed out during the blood work part and had to do the process over again but I really didn't mind the drink they gave me. Each place probably has a different form of the drink but mine just tasted like a really sweet orange fanta. That blanket is beautiful! Have a great weekend!

I bet that the photos are going to turn out wonderful, and your friend was so right about pictures in the snow! So pretty! The blanket that Jared's grandmother made is so pretty, and you're so right about it going wonderfully with your Under The Sea theme!

  19. Heartburn is the worst! I heard that papaya enzymes are a good natural remedy for digestion during pregnancy, so I'm going to pick up some of those ASAP!

  22. Definitely do the maternity session! It's so fun to have nice pics to look back on - I did maternity photos with all four of mine because I loved it so much! ;-) Also, get the orange glucose drink, it's much better than the fruit punch.

  27. OMG, our baby is the same exact way when Nick tries to feel her move!! Stops immediately! He's felt her a couple of times, but it's so funny that the majority of the time, she's just done. Glad you're (both) feeling great!

  29. Ahh, how fun! The afghan is beautiful. I love the ocean theme idea. We did a travel/adventure kind of theme for our daughter's room, so similar color scheme. Light blues are so soothing!

That's great that you got a belly photo in the snow!
