All Weekends Should Include Donuts

Happy February and Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed as good of a weekend as I did. It was another no-actual-obligations-or-plans weekend and those are becoming my absolute favorite. Life post-football season CAN in fact be good. I love the time for Jared and I to just do whatever we want at whatever pace we want. Those couple of days away from the office are always my favorite no matter what we do :) Although it's always preferable that the weekends include donuts at some point.
The weather here in Ohio was ridiculously nice and we definitely took advantage of it while it lasted. It was in the high 50s on Saturday so we headed out to a part of town we don't typically visit. I had a few returns to do that I'd been putting off for weeeeeeks. Does anyone else hate returning things? I dread it just as much as I dread getting an oil change. So I took a deep breath and tackled the car stuff AND the returning stuff all in one day. I'm such a grown-up, I know.

After the errands, we explored the area we were in. Shopped in lots of stores we don't have near us and ate a nice dinner out at a steakhouse- yum! Plus, there was a bookstore next door that we couldn't resist visiting. Their bargain book section was incredibly tempting, but with the decluttering we've been doing lately I had to tell myself no to purchasing. Instead, I just took detailed notes for a future library trip.

Speaking of decluttering- we also donated two large boxes of stuff over the weekend and threw away two large trash bags of junk. It's both sad and amazing that we continue to find things to get rid of in our house but it's been a fun challenge to see what we can get rid of each week. I'll be reporting more on that tomorrow :)

And last- but certainly not least... Congratulations to the winner of the Valentine's Day planner pack- Lisa!! Thank you to everyone who entered and those who continue to support our Etsy shop.

  1. Those donuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so didn't need to see those this morning. Hahaha just a few more days of Whole 30! Then I might face plant in to one of those...haha. Sounds like you guys had a great time shopping and hanging out this weekend! I love just wondering around stores and getting ideas even if I am not going to get something. Hope you have a great week!!!

I pass this little bakery on my way to the doctor that has THE BEST apple fritters...and I seriously stop every time. Baby wants what baby wants! lol

  7. Donuts <3

Oil Changes are the worst...and I can't even complain all that much because I usually take my car to the Wal-Mart garage so I can just peruse the store while I wait. There's something about it that's still a pain though. That bookstore looks like a place where I could spend many hours!

  10. I hate returning things to the store too! I'm a huge online shopper and even though it's easier to shop online, I still find it easier to return to the store, even though I feel like the salespeople are giving me evil looks for returning so much! I don't know how you were able to say no to buying books, but good for you to sticking to your decluttering plan!

  11. I love cleaning out and decluttering! I've been doing a little bit each week at our house too and it makes such a difference :) Girl, I've been craving a donut like crazy this week. I hardly ever eat sweets or donuts but I am craving a chocolate long john so bad it's ridiculous!

  13. Ever since my first baby shower, I have returned or exchanged so.many.things. I hate it and always feel like I'm being judged by the cashier haha. And I wish people gave gift receipts!!! It sucks getting a gift that won't work (i.e. we were given a long sleeved sweater material one piece outfit in a size that would be summer in Alabama for my daughter) so we went to swap it out. They didn't have it in a different size so we couldn't do an exact exchange...we ended up only getting about $7 in store credit, and the store isn't a cheap store haha.
