On a High

There was no possible way in the universe I was going to pull together a blog post for yesterday to recap my weekend. I thought about it for a fleeting moment and then my head said, "nope" and so I went on my merry way. Sure, it was a busy, fun-filled productive few days (I even snapped a few photos!) like any other weekend. But the main reason for my absence was this:

My guys are 7-0 for the first time in franchise history. Talk about a HIGH. And talk about an ugly, nerve-wrecking game!! It was not a good game; it was sloppy, there were injuries, there were bad calls (against both teams!) by the refs. But a win is a win is a win and I will PROUDLY take it. The Bengals are on a short week this week with TNF and the Browns coming to town. Actually, the Thursday Night Football Crew is already here and their trucks are lining the streets. The energy downtown is insane right now but we're hanging onto this wild ride! Whodey!!

Okay, okay- sorry I went a little football crazy there. I know not everyone is a fan, or cares at all, but this blog has football in the title so you knew what you were getting into when you clicked on over ;) Jared and I had a really productive Friday night working on our guest room and office. We're pricing out carpet and hope to pull the trigger on that soon but in the meantime we're gutting the rooms the best we can to make for a more seamless project. The original carpet in this house has got.to.go.

Halloween night we had the most perfect weather to pass out candy. It got a little chilly so Kayla and I bundled up while the guys rocked some costumes that were a big hit with neighbors and kiddos alike. It was the perfect low-key Saturday night after that enjoying some leftover candy and not-too-scary movies.

Now if you'll excuse me... I've got Super Bowl tickets and a flight to purchase ;)

  15. I am seriously so excited we're 7-0 right now but I am so worried about Thursday night. I know we aren't the same team from last year but the short recovery time, the rivalry and the fact it's a night has me nervous!!

  16. Congrats on the Bengals! They are playing fantastic this year. While I would love to see how far they can go, I can't lie....I really hope the Browns will actually show up on Thursday night.

  17. I AM SO WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. I'm a Panthers fan and obviously they're also 7-0. Last night's game was going perfectly...until the fourth quarter. So insane, such a mess, TERRIBLE calls from the refs, mistakes, rainy weather..the list goes on. I stayed up way past my bedtime but it was totally worth it :D

  21. Who Dey!! :) Ironically, this is the first time in six years that I'm not slated to work Super Bowl. I figure that's a sure fire way to ensure my team makes it to the big game! Just my luck!

  22. I will fully admit that I have not even begun to pay attention to football this year. Partially because the Chiefs are so miserable - and partially because the Royals have taken us on an amazing post-season run culminating with a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! so since the Chiefs are horrible and since I refuse to root for the Broncos - I'll cheer on your boys! 7-0 is an accomplishment!

    1. Thank you! ;) We'll take on all the fans we can get hehe. I don't blame you though, if your baseball team was rocking it's hard to switch sports!
