Goals, Progress and Having Fun

First off, thank you EVERYONE for all your support and love on my post Tuesday. I'm anxious to see where this venture might go and I was thrilled to hear how excited some of you are! You all rock :) Here's another quick peek at some goodies coming soon:

I've been so wrapped up in creating pretty stickers that I almost forgot about making/updating my monthly goals post! I rarely succeed at every single one in a month's time, but it definitely keeps me on track and keeps me motivated. As long as I'm making progress, I feel good. My August goals went pretty well:

1. Make an extra-large mortgage payment. CHECK PLUS, baby! Probably the largest chunk we've put down on our house since we purchased it. Definitely felt nice to see that loan number jump down.

2. Work on a business venture. Duh! I was finally able to share Plan in Color with everyone :)

3. Make more time for friends. While I did celebrate Kayla's birthday and got to meet Kristin (two major happenings in August) I don't feel like I did much else to reach out to friends last month. It was busy at work and I just didn't make the time.... Oops.

4. Journal more often. I got started on a one-line-a-day type of journal this month and really enjoyed it! I think I probably wrote something down about 20-22 days of August, which isn't bad ;) I'd like to continue to write more though- and not just the one line a day, but it was a nice way to ease back into using a paper journal.

#1 this month is making times for friends and family. After chatting with my mom last night I realized it's been entirely too long since I've hung out with her :( And that got me thinking about how long it had been since I saw my Grandma, my BFF, etc.... Yikes. I live an hour from a lot of people I love, but there's no reason I can't dedicate time to each relationship.

#2  Try a new fitness-related activity. I mentioned last month that I tried barre3 for the first time and really enjoyed trying something new. I want to keep things interesting in the health/fitness department so maybe I'll try a new class or do a new activity with a friend!

#3 Host an awesome first game-day partay! Is this any surprise?! ;) The Bengals open up the season in Oakland this year and I can't wait to have a house full of people to host and feed. WHODEY!

#4 Start some Christmas shopping. Don't judge, don't judge. With Swagbucks, I've been stockpiling all kinds of giftcards all year and I'm ready to start buying. It's so nice to get ahead of the game and not let the holidays stress you out last minute.

#5 Have some fun!!! July and August were crazy months at work for me. We hosted four concerts in July and August was all about the prep-work for the season. Weirdly enough, I feel like this month things are going to slow down a bit, and become a little more routine at work, which I'm looking forward to. I need more time for fun with Jared, downtime and just enjoying the changing seasons.

Happy Thursday everyone :)

  5. Have you tried spinning ? Its a great class and now that schools started back up, I'm super bummed that I can't go (our gym only has it in the AM). Good luck with the goals!

  6. I would love to see a post on how you use all these pretty stickers and things in your planner! Would show off your product, and maybe get people like me who are unsure if they would use a planner...a lot more excited about it!!!

Good job on your goals! I am going to start Christmas shopping this month too. I already got the list from two of my nieces and two of my nephews :) Last year 80% of our gifts was bought in December and I cant handle another month like that LOL!

  8. Always love reading your goal posts, Erin! I think now that you have your sticker business, you need to do a post about your planner - how you organize, etc! I would love that!!

  9. I need a new Sally and Perkins post to get me motivated again ;) We're working on the 6-9 months of expenses thing right now and it's been hard to get that moving. Tuition and medical bill payments don't help....

  11. Congrats on the big mortgage payment! That must feel awesome! Heck yeah to the Bengals party. I wish we had friends to invite over for one and I wish it was televised over here. Instead, I find myself watching poor online streams or going to BW3s every Sunday. Ugh. I am, however, going to the preseason game against the Colts tonight! Of course. Who-Dey?!

  18. Love your goals! I've really been trying to reach out to friends in the past couple of weeks to keep mine and Mia's social life going... not sure why since I'm about to be out of commission for a couple of months, ha ha! But it feels good to be social and get out of my comfort zone to make new friends!
Girl, I've totally been Christmas shopping! But again, I blame it on trying to get as much accomplished before the baby arrives as I can :)

  19. I didn't do very well at crossing things off of my August goals list but I intend to turn things around in September. Now to just get those goals down on paper soon! I love that number one on your list is spending time with friends and family. Even when you live in the same town it can be hard to get together just because everyone is busy doing their own thing.
