Fall Y'all!

Although today officially marks the start of fall, Ohio is definitely not quite there yet. The mornings are cool and crisp (which I love!) but we're still seeing temperatures in the 80's most days so the shorts and tshirts have yet to be put away. However, that doesn't mean I can't be sprucing up our home and making it feel like fall is here. It'll be here soon enough ;)

Jared and I have been looking up all the local festivals and 'fun on the farm' type of days going on around us and I'm excited to continue our little traditions together. I love that we do the same things together each year, and continue to add to them as well. I cherish these years/times of just Jared and I so much but I know it'll be a blast with our future family one day, too. Picking out our pumpkins and carving them together, drinking entirely too much apple cider and of course getting lost in a corn maze or two over the next couple of months are all on the agenda.

Football is obviously at the forefront of our fall activities, living and breathing NFL games from now until February, but we hope to get to a college game this year if we can as well. The past two years I've generously been given Ohio State Buckeye tickets but this year I may have to be talking to some ticket brokers if I want to see them play. #help

We also are working on coming up with our Halloween costumes for this year. If you've read this blog for any time at all, you'll know that we have an awesome party to go to every year and we love coming up with fun/creative costumes. If you want to check out some past costumes of ours, see here. I'm excited about this year and already counting down until the party! Last year we were both Disney-inspired and had so much fun.

So really, is there any better season than fall? I think not! Bring it on, Ohio! :) Thanks Pinky for hosting this fun link-up today!!

  1. Golly, what a fun fall post. We've had crisp mornings and then warm temperatures here too. I bet the fall foliage in Cincy is gorgeous, I always arrive in the winter so miss the pretty colors. You and Jared have amazing costumes, LOVE the Cruella look.

We have been checking for buckeye tickets, too. Man, they win ONE National Championship and all of a sudden tickets cost an ARM and a LEG! Hope you get to a game!!!! GO BUCKS!

Thanks so much for linking up with us!

  3. I definitely love fall because of football season, it is the most wonderful time of the year! But I also can't wait for the cooler weather, and fun fall things, like the pumpkin carving. I wish that I was creative as you! My husband and I always struggle to come up with fun Halloween costumes!

  4. SO MUCH YES. All my favorite things in one post! I can't wait for the weather to cool down a bit - I'm ready for hoodies all day errryday. How do you fit everything in when you're so busy with football season?! Wheat's Pacers/Fever schedule is already dooming my fun fall plans...as is wedding planning. I think we'll have a pretty cute costume on Halloween, though. ;) Bride and groom! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year!!

  8. I'm relatively new to the Cincinnati area and am wondering where you go to pick your pumpkins? When I lived in Louisville I loved going to Huber's in Indiana. Thank you! I adore your blog!

    1. Hi! :) Welcome to Cincy! Burger Farm in Newtown is a great one: http://www.burgerfarms.com/ as well as Blooms and Berries in Loveland: http://www.bloomsandberriesfarmmarket.com/ Not sure what part of town you live in, but Iron's Fruit Farm in Lebanon is great for pumpkins AND apples! http://www.ironsfruitfarm.com/

  17. Your Cruella costume is amazing!! I wish that we dressed up in creative costumes together and had fun traditions. I think I might need to force some upon the BF this year. Just kidding. Kind of.

  18. I'm not a big fall person but with K in school she's learning all about the season and calendar. So we are going on a field trip to a farm in October.

Also I've already started putting together pieces of her Halloween costume because she never wants to be anything you can actually buy. It's fun for me to see if I can get it right every year.
