Friday Highlights

I've made it! I somehow survived this crazy week and got to Friday! I'm pretty confident there was a point on Tuesday I didn't think it was going to happen. But like clockwork (a crazy clock, for sure) it's here and I'm ready for a weekend of fun. Highlights of this week?

1. Paying extra on our mortgage. As scary as it is to see that huge chunk of money leave the bank account- it feels good knowing that it's going on our home that we OWN... rather than those nasty student loans which are now long gone. I've been getting excited about the potential of moving within a year or so and having a good amount of this house paid off is really important to us!

2. Two different people emailed me for DisneyWorld advice this week and I sorta' loved it. Jared and I seriously cannot stay away from Disney long and I love sharing tips and info with other vacationers! It's been a year and a half since we were last there and we legitimately miss it so much. Perhaps DisneyLAND could be in our future??? :)

3. We are officially ONE WEEK from the Bengals first preseason game. One week, people. Excuse me while I spaz out and don't sleep next week! Sidenote- will someone just buy me these shoes already?!

4. Don't forget, next Tuesday is Tailgate Tuesday link-up on my blog! Anything football related goes. You can just talk about your favorite team, your favorite football memory, tailgate recipes, gameday fashion/gear - anything at all! I'm already excited to read everyone's posts :)

5.  And of course last but not least, a big ole' Happy Birthday Weekend to my little SIL, Kayla! She turns 24 on Sunday and we plan to celebrate all weekend long :)

  3. Disneyland! Disneyland! Even though Disney World hands down wins between the two, it is still SO much fun and SO different being the original (and those cast members are quick to remind you that it's the original...)

  12. Ok so not to be all up in your financial business, but...are you also saving for a future down payment (since you said you're looking to move) as well as paying extra ln your mortgage? I'm really not that nosy, I'm just curious because we want to sell our house and I just feel like we wouldn't be able to afford another one even if we wanted to (which, thankfully, we don't). Do you think you'll be able to make enough when you sell that it will cover your next down payment? Buying/selling is way more complicated than I ever imagined but I know you're a money guru!
Hope you have a great weekend celebrating that sweet sister in law of yours!

  13. This week has definitely been a crazy one. That is so exciting about the big mortgage payment! I cannot wait for the day we will be at that point. Hunter and I will be heading to Disney (along with our 2 sisters) in a couple of weeks and I'm literally freaking out every single day. All things MICKEY!!! Happy weekending :)

  14. Woo, awesome on the extra mortgage payment! That's gotta feel so awesome. And r: Disney, I haven't been since I was TEN. I'm planning a Disney/Universal trip next spring, so I'll probably be knocking down your door for some trip advice :)

I mean, I made it there last year.....to a resort for work. But not the park. I will be down there again for work next month...but not the park. It is the biggest tease ever!

  19. I haven't been to Disney World in YEARS, but when we were still living in SoCal we would make frequent visits to Disneyland and I go every time I go visit friends. Carsland is AMAZING in California Adventure. :)

  20. I'm pretty much dying over those Toms. How amazing are those?! I'm not much a material possessions person, but I think you NEED those. I'd love to go to Disneyland - I've never been! Only Disney World. Have so much fun this weekend! Can't wait to hear about the birthday celebrations! :)

  21. Okay, even as a Ravens fan I think you need those shoes, how awesome! You should totally go to Disney Land as soon as possible...and then try and check out Disneyland Paris, it was such a cool experience! Can't wait to Tailgate Tuesday!

  22. Sometimes seeing any sum of money leave your bank account is scary, but so awesome that y'all are paying off your house early. If I could I would go back to Disney World every single year. We went at Christmas a couple of years ago and it was so beautiful, but I've heard Halloween is actually the best time to go. Can't wait for Tailgate Tuesday!

  23. If you're seriously planning on visiting Land, I'd look into because I've heard a big chunk of it is going to be closed for a long time for re-dos. But anything Disney would be great right now!!

  24. I'm a little shocked you don't already own those Toms. Seriously! You need them in your life.
