Easter Hopping

It was quite possibly the quickest weekend of my life, hence the lack of a Monday post. I definitely needed yesterday to try to recover. We had a great time seeing both Jared's family and mine but I'm getting too old for this much activity in one weekend ;) We were definitely hopping around from one thing to the next constantly!
Saturday included a delicious brunch followed by bowling which was a ton of fun. I hadn't bowled in a looong time- why, I don't know, because I love it! I did pretty terribly but I'm totally gonna' blame it on this bum hip of mine. Oh, haven't I mentioned that? Yeah, I'm still having hip pain since my race. The race that took place 3+ weeks ago. Super fun stuff.

Another fun part of the weekend was going to a dinner theater with my mom and dad. Way too much food at the buffet and a chance to see a musical? You can't go wrong. It was my first time seeing South Pacific and I really enjoyed it. I could watch live theater every week and never get sick of it. One day when I'm fabulously wealthy (ha!) I'd love to have a season subscription somewhere- I just love it so much!

Aren't my parents cute?! :)

Sunday our church service was absolutely perfect, as always. We ended the day doing dinner with Jared's family again, before his parents headed back to Arkansas. I was pretty excited that my brother-in-law and his girlfriend had made us all goody bags to take home with us. Since this weekend was so busy, Jared and I skipped doing baskets for each other for the first time in a few years. I was bummed, but these treats were more than enough :)
So yeah, all that hopping?! Has this girl tuckered out. I'll be laying low the rest of this week, chowing down on my last bit of Easter candy and going into a sugar-coma. ;)

  4. Oh, how I love musicals! I try to see at least one a year, either the ones by our local theatre company or the traveling Broadway shows that come through GR.

  5. We have so, so much leftover Easter candy. I don't think I put enough so's in there. I'll be more than happy to just ship the rest to you ;)

Now I'll have "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair" stuck in my head all day!

  7. La Comedia is my favorite! My family had season tickets there when I was growing up and I absolutely loved it. The owner is so sweet and that sweet potato souffle? I can't deal with it. South Pacific is one of my very favorites. How ridiculous is "There is Nothing Like a Dame?" Glad you had an awesome weekend!

  8. Looks like you had a busy and fun weekend! Bowling is always a good time in my opinion. :) Easter candy got the best of me Sunday and I ate more that I should. Thankfully I don't have any in my apartment to tempt me this week.

  12. I'm a huge fan of live theatre and forget how much I love it! So cool you had a date night with your parents.

For your hip, do you have a foam roller? Have you tried doing some yoga hip openers to help?

  20. Hey! Just an PSA on hip pain...after a 10K I did a few years ago, I had nagging hip pain for months. I didn't get it looked at for a long time because it just felt like I pulled something. Turns out, it was a stress fracture in the ball socket! I was on strict no running and crutches for a while! So, if it still hurts, go see the orthopedist!! Just some friendly advice! That kind of injury happens a lot in runners, and can be pretty painful!

  21. You probably don't know how much I wish I were a theater person. I want to be one! They always sound so classy and sophisticated. Oh well. That's awesome you go to go! Lots of fun things this weekend. I'm glad you had a good time! (P.s. The highlight for me in bowling is if I don't come in last. That is the truth.)
