Thursday Thoughts

This has been a slow blogging week for me since work and life have been busy, but that's how I prefer it. I'm getting lots done, prepping for the race and happily seeing the dates get closer and closer to April (best.month.ever! Birthday month and I'll take one of these for my office!! Thanks.) So as many Thursdays seem to go, you'll getting all the snippets of things that are rolling around in my head. The things that my mind bounces back and forth between while I lay in bed telling myself to shut down and go to sleep. Easier said than done, right?

I can't seem to keep my hands off my blog design. Little font changes here and there, moving things around, cleaning up certain sections... Will it ever be perfect? Probably not! I'm way better at designing for other people.

It's pretty cool when your blog friend you've never met announces something awesome. Who would have ever thought I'd be celebrating "with" internet friends all around the country?! ;)

Valvoline had an amazing coupon for once so I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg last night to get my oil changed. Every time I get an oil change I really wish I knew more about cars... just knowing how to do a few basic things would save a lot of time and money!

Jared and I joke/dream sometimes about living in Florida (And I may have been looking to see if any of the NFL teams were hiring!) but I always say I don't think I could actually live there permanently. This link that Robin shared yesterday proved my point. OMG.

Most people are not thinking a lot about football right now, but the free agency has been absolutely crazy in the past couple of days and I love it! This Bengals fan is excited to welcome AJ Hawk to the team and back to Ohio.

My cousin had her twins last night! A boy and a girl and they are tiny and adorable and healthy! :)

I keep my Facebook very small/private to begin with, because I just don't love it. I like being able to at least keep tabs with family and a few friends, but that's about it. I post maybe one status update a month. One of those was yetserday and all I got were pointless or sarcastic responses... I rest my case. Facebook is dumb.

Last random "news" of the day? Amazon's customer service is seriously some of the best out there. I had a couple small issues with exchanges in the past couple of weeks and I was truly blown away about how quickly they resolved it for me. I even got to keep something I didn't pay for simply for their mistake! Amazon Prime customer for life!

Are you still with me?! ;) Happy Friday's Eve everyone... what's on your brain today??
*Total blogger fail- a post with no photos.... gasp!

  1. So so with you on Facebook. I may post blog stuff, but I almost NEVER post anything on my personal page. I see way too much of people being crazy and I am not about to be lumped in with them.

Chris on the other hand, uses Facebook like twitter. Men.

  2. Gah, facebook is annoying sometimes. I go back and forth on deleting it or not, just because it frustrates me. But I like keeping track of my friends I don't talk to often.

I love your lil tweaks! It's like alil surprise whenever I come over here!

  3. I literally cannot wait to get a new blog design - I'm counting down the days until my spending freeze is over and I can send you an email!! And when I saw Amanda's post show up on Twitter yesterday I was so excited as if it were one of my friends IRL making the announcement - blogging is weird!

  4. I love those fit desks!!! I don't really see it working out at my office, but I wouldn't mind one at home! Facebook gets on my nerves so bad, I rarely sign in to my account or post updates because...why bother? It was way better when we were all in college and the parents/grandparents and the general population were off it!

  6. Amen on Facebook. I keep it because I help manage a FB page for work and there are a few groups that I really enjoy being part of. I never bother to update my status and I maybe post an album of photos once a year just to satisfy family members. I'm looking forward to April too! I'm usually pretty indifferent to April but this year I'm excited!

  8. Hahaha, I promise we don't have gators walking through our yards on a regular basis down here! ;) I did think it was hilarious how chill those golfers looked though, they were like, "Hmm, a huge gator." and then went about their day. :D UGH Facebook. That's pretty much all I have to say about that, other than I totally agree with you, Facebook IS Dumb.

i was so excited to see Amanda's news - it's amazing how I feel like a lot of my internet friends are real life friends.. who'd of thought?!
a couple years ago, my husband got ripped off by 2 separate mechanic dudes, and he finally lost it, so he's been teaching himself with the help of youtube. we just got a new car, but before that he had a chevvy truck he's had for 13 years, so lots of problems. we saved thousands by him doing almost everything that needed to be done, no joke.
i only keep my facebook because of the whole i live on the other side of the world and my family doesn't know about my blog so thats the only way i keep in touch (seriously, my mum cannot figure out skype, grr). i have a blog one, but i forget about it, all the time!

  11. Thanks for being so excited for us :) I'm still not sure I'm even ready, but as my stomach grows so is the reality that hello there's a HUMAN inside me. Weird. So excited for your race! I just love races. So fun to add medals to your wall! Happy Thursday!

  13. I love Amazon and especially amazon prime!! I am so excited for you and your race this weekend friend. I know you are going to do amazing. I am so proud of you for getting out there and going for it. There are times I wish Michael and I could pick up and move somewhere new but only if we could come back to where we are now...no questions asked when we are tired of it.

  18. With everything happening in St. Louis lately, and its earning a bad rap, I'm seriously thinking/wishing we could live elsewhere. While that gator would freak me out as well it would be something to add to your list of "things I thought would never happen!"
