#4WeeksFit {The Goals}

Today is the big day!!! :) If you missed our announcement last week, Kristin and I are hosting a #4weeksfit challenge that starts today! It can be any type of fitness/weight loss/healthy eating goal you want it to be. We're just challenging you to stick to it for 4 weeks and link-up your results with us on March 31st. I am so pumped to start this month off strong and have an amazing #4weeksfit. Nothing like warm weather coming (I hope, right?!) to really make you want you want to step your game up. It took me awhile to decide on my goals for the month but I'm pretty excited about what I finally narrowed them down to.

Goal #1 - Incorporate more/new healthy foods into my diet. We eat at home most of the time, but it's easy to make the same things over and over again, which then in turn gets boring. I really want to focus on new vegetables, both as a side dish and as a main course. Any vegetarian recipes you love? Send them my way.

Goal #2 - Lose 5-7 pounds. Pretty self-explanatory here ;) Still working off those extra pounds from football season and the holidays. Again...

Goal #3 - Get 8,000+ steps a day. This is going to be a challenge for me as I sit at a desk all day long and never take a  lunch break (yes, I'm a workaholic). I use a FitBit and on days where I don't workout? I'm lucky to get 4,000 steps in a day. I know it's so so bad to sit down all day long so I'm determined to really actively track and get up and move on those days I know I won't be going for a run.

Goal #4 - Run my entire half-marathon... no walking! I have my second-ever half marathon this month and while I absolutely don't feel prepared, I'm still pushing myself as hard as I can. Last year's I was in rough shape and ended up walking a lot- so cheers to running the whole race, no matter how slow! ;)

Don't forget to link up with us and use the #4weeksfit hashtag anytime you want :) I can't wait to motivate each other all month long!

Love, Fun & football

  1. I have some lbs to shed too. My body has been winter mode and holding onto everything. I'm hoping as it warms up my body will get out of hibernation!

  2. Ugh getting steps in during the week is so hard when you are chained to a desk all day. When I was wearing my fitbit it was just depressing....I found that I would just walk aimlessly around the house just to not feel so pathetic before bed haha!

I have some weight that has got to go. I am stepping up my game for sure this month! Good luck with your goals!!!

  3. I am so excited to dominate March with you! Getting in steps is SO hard when we spend so much of the day working - but I think if we focus we can up our step game! And I have no doubt at all that you are going to CRUSH this 13.1!

  5. I neeeeeeed a fitbit! So bad! Loving your fitness goals! I just joined a gym here in AZ (FINALLY!) so I'm all sorts of pumped about getting back into working out and taking care of my body! Yay!

  6. Awesome goals! I too sit at a desk all day and forget to get up and move around every now and then so definitely trying to do better with that! I want to lose about 4 pounds this month! We can do it!

  7. YES! I have full confidence in your ability to accomplish each of these goals and especially the half marathon! Can't wait to hear all about it!

  8. I think my FitBit was my best purchase of 2014. I was surprised to find how much moving around I actually do during the weekday considering I have an office job, but also love that if I see that I'm not quite where I want to be for steps I can find an excuse to get up and get moving so I can still reach my daily goal for steps. I'll have to find you on FitBit so we can be friends and 'challenge' each other!

I think just the fact that you're doing a half marathon is an accomplishment itself! 5k's are more than enough for me!!

  9. I have a recipe for a Mexican quinoa casserole that is SO GOOD...I know you love your Mexican so I'll have to find the link and send it to you! I haven't made it in a while so I should dig up the recipe and make it this week anyway :)
All kinds of yay for your second half marathon! I'll definitely be cheering for you to meet your no-walking goal!

  10. Yes! I'm in desperate need of a fitness reset for March. I'll be in Florida for a long weekend in early April and want to feel comfortable if not confident in my bathing suit! My goals for the next four weeks are: 1) Get to the gym 17 times 2) reduce intake of sugar and carbs (so addictive!) 3) improve time on St Paddy's 5K and register for another 5K-10K. Thanks for helping me put these down on "paper."

  13. I eat A LOT of vegetarian meals. I can seriously talk for days... but, I wont. Do you like curry? It's not even really curry, but it tastes kinda like curry, anyway it's super simple and easy, chickpeas & spinach curry - http://www.budgetbytes.com/2013/12/curried-chickpeas-spinach/ - my husband gobbled his up, and he is not super on board with vegetarian meals.
secondly, these black bean burgers were a huge ridiculously huge hit and way easier than i thought they would be http://www.budgetbytes.com/2011/01/black-bean-burgers/
really anything by budget bytes, you can't go wrong.
in the cooler months, i love my ratatouille - its basically chop up all the veggies. whatever you want - eggplant, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, onions.. topped with olive oil, tomato sauce (otherwise the veggies burn), garlic, basil etc. i also chuck some quinoa, lentils and spinach in there just to bulk it up and make it basically not resemble ratatouille anymore. my husband hates it, too much stuff too many tomatoes but i could eat it for days.
in the summer, i like salads. boring, i know. i also really love to make quinoa, pasta sauce and tomatoes and cheese. i realise there are no veggies in that recipe, but hey. can't win 'em all and it tastes amazing.
what else, what else... there are tons of mexican recipes on pinterest. we like to have tacos, but i just have them with black beans instead of meat. i can't eat gluten, so everything i eat is gluten free too, but my husband doesnt need to worry about that, and if you dont then your possibilities are even more endless.
i make a great avocado pasta -the recipe is from the londoner blog, i just add mushrooms. it takes a little longer to prep but even my husband loved it (and because it's avo, fills you up!).
I am not prepared for the race next week, but my goal is the same - just run the whole thing and enjoy myself.
i apologise for the ridiculously long comment.

  17. I have my fitbit set to buzz after 10,000 steps, and I almost never hit it since I also have a desk job. I strive for 8k steps but even that's tough sometimes. You go girl!!!!

  18. love your goals and this challenge!! good luck! you'll do awesome!

  20. Get it! Those are awesome goals, and I'm excited to see how you do AND excited to hear about your half marathon! Hello, awesome. You'll have done TWO now! So great. I'm glad you came back for round 2. Soon you'll be addicted like me :) I'm doing the RnR Dallas later this month!

  21. Great goals. I'll get back to you on the exact recipes (I have some on Pinterest) but I love stuffed veggies. I'm bad at steps too. Coaching softball has really helped but I still have a long way to go before I hit 10k.

  22. Things that totally help me get my step goals (mine are 10,000 usually): I purposefully bring a water bottle to work (I drink water like a mofo) and I take the long way to the kitchen to fill up my water bottle. Just tiny habits!

  23. i totally get how eating at home all the time can get boring. i feel like austin and i are totally in a rut with weekly meals, so if you find anything good, post it! isn't wearing a fitbit a ton of pressure sometimes? i'll admit, i've ran around our condo on more than one occasion to get my steps in before bed haha. and you're going to kill that half marathon, i'm sure of it!

  25. I love this idea! I have not been really blogging much but I am the same as you - I eat a lot of the same things. I get caught up in day to day life and forget to incorporate variety. I work a desk job so I don't get in a lot of steps each day and always relied on my gym activity to pick up the slack. But an injury won't allow that for now so I have to get creative :)

  26. You got these goals!!! I've been adding better food lately and I have to say I love how I'm feeling throughout the day!

  27. After being in relationship with morgan for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. Anybody could need the help of the spell caster, his email:allmightbazulartemple@gmail.com you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything. CAN NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT YOU SIR HIS EMAIL
