Insta-Weekend

Most of the time I forget to upload anything to Instagram on the weekends, but I'm trying to get better about that... since I know you're all dying to see what I'm up to. (Not!) Sometimes I don't upload because what I'm doing is super boring to the rest of the world and not IG-worthy, other times I just plain forget. Don't worry, I still stalk all of you though ;) So today I thought I'd show you my weekend through Insta only. Prepare to be amaaaaaazed.

Friday night Jared and I tore it up at the gym and spent the rest of our evening icing every possible body part we could. (Try not to be too envious of my rockin' weekend outfit and slippers!) We've really gotta' take care of ourselves... we now have less than 5 weeks until our half-marathon. Runners out there- help! Any expert advice on what I should be doing at this point prior to a race? I'm following a running plan pretty well, but I still feel so behind some days. Tell me I'll survive??

Saturday was wonderful because we had no concrete plans other than just enjoying the downtime. I worked on my never-ending photobooks and finally had to make myself a cheat sheet with all my memory cards. I have way too many of them and swap them in and out of my two cameras all the time, so it makes things difficult when looking for a photo! I finally have them all in order as I upload and organize though so at least I've got a system, even if it's a low-tech one.

And maybe Jared and I had a little too much fun in Meijer Saturday night. After we picked up some groceries for some new low-carb meals for the week, we found frames for our Disney puzzles we've had sitting around for months now. I don't care how old I get, I'll always love all things Disney so these bad boys are going up in our office. Don't worry- the Spiderman mask did not make it's way home with us.

So all in all, a relaxing do-what-we-what kinda' weekend is perfect to me. I love that my calendar isn't overflowing with obligations or parties right now. I actually feel like Jared and I are in charge of lives and get to intentionally decide what to do each weekend now. I'm savoring these free days because we all know they won't be forever!

PS- I asked on Twitter... but thought I'd mention it here too. Is anyone out there interested in Sallie & Perkins updates still? Even though those student loans are gone, there are big financial moves in the works and I think they're itching to guest post ;)

Great score on the frames. I love when I find a cheap alternative that works well and still looks nice.

  10. Way to get after it on a Friday, keep it up lady. I've never run a race plan before, I just kind of wing it, but make sure you're getting enough rest. You don't want to hurt yourself before the race.

I'd love to see S&P on the blog again. They make money fun! :)

  14. Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend! And from experience, the best thing you can do before your half marathon is be confident and trust your training! If you're sticking to the plan, you'll be fine. :) Running is sooooo mental so as soon as you start second guessing yourself, you've lost half the battle. You can do it! :)

  19. Aw, you didn't get the Spiderman mask & start fighting crime over the weekend? That would probably help with your half-marathon training, chasing bad guys. Ha! :)

  24. I'm glad you had a relaxing, low-key weekend! You totally deserve to catch up on some free time after the chaos of football season. My camera memory cards are all mixed together in a plastic bag, so I might have to follow your lead on that one. And you better believe I want to hear from Sallie and Perkins.

  31. I'm ok at posting to Instagram but always miss so much because I follow too many people. I wish IG had lists. You will rock your half! Just have fun with it. Like I've said before I will only run when it's still fun. I have too much pressure in all other areas of my life. Is Jared running it with you?
