Let's Get Happy

Sometimes it just feels good to shut out the negative crap going on around you and think about the good. I could focus today on how not-fun my job has been, or how we have home repairs that need to happen ASAP or how I don't understand why I'm not skinny after two workouts ;) But what fun is complaining? It doesn't solve anything, I know, so lets get happy today, shall we? It's Friday, after all, and I for the first time in forever don't have any concrete plans!!

- We cooked healthy meals and ate at home EVERY day this week. I can't remember the last time that's happened!

- Feeling organized. Things are falling into place and things are regaining order again. And order is just how I like it. Speaking of organized, I thought this was so cute for an office. I found it an article that said 54 Ways to Make Your Cubicle Suck Less, ha! I don't have a cubicle, but lots of these ideas are great and simple.

- I get to see a lot of friends this month! It's so nice to have free time again to meet up for dinner or coffee or have a night-in with friends at our place. Looking forward to making up for lost time.

- Jared got a coffee maker for Christmas and while I'm not a coffee person at all, sometimes you just need a little pick-me-up in the morning. Thanks to this creamer I found at Kroger -and my cute mug- I can handle a small cup without completely hating it when I'm just really dragging.

- We're having a "heat wave" Sunday where Ohio's going to be in the high 30s and I'm hoping to try my new Garmin Forerunner 10 out! I got a few good workouts in at the gym this week but I'm so ready to get back outside and run. At soon as the ground isn't covered in ice ;)

- I'm about to redesign my blog! I know what you're thinking... again?! I can't help it! It's both a blessing and a curse to be a designer. I can change things whenever I want which is great. But... I can change things whenever I want! I can make pretty things for everyone else but I'm just never satisfied with my own. Maybe this go around we'll have a winner.

This weekend I'm looking forward to doing whatever we want, sleeping in when I feel like it and hopefully HOPEFULLY getting a new phone/ plan. If I haven't mentioned it before, my phone is from the stone ages. I only get about half the texts that are sent to me, it has a horrible camera, force closes just about any app I open and when I try to make a call? There's at least a 10-minute delay from hitting call and the call actually going through. I'd say it's time for an upgrade ;)

  5. We ate at home every night this week, too and when I realized that I was both proud and shocked. Who knew eating at home could be so easy?! ;) Happy Weekend!

  6. As my future brother-in-law always says, TREAT YO SELF. Haha! I am not a coffee drinker at all either and sometimes I wish I was on those mornings where I am really dragging lol. A weekend with no plans is the best kind sometime! I'm excited for you to have so much free time this month, it is always so good to catch up with friends and family. It's supposed to get above freezing here this weekend, 47 on Sunday...I might just cry happy tears! Have a good weekend!! :)

  7. I found that cubicle pin too! Mine is so bleh right now, I'd love to make it more me..I don't like coffee either, but we have a Kureg in our office. I've gradually opened up to it. I probably have more creamer and sugar than coffee, but oh well. But since it's been so cold this week, I've been drinking hot chocolate like no other.

  8. I'm jealous of your heat waves. Our high temps have all started with a 1 this week.

The design bug has been hitting me too...I'm still pondering what that means but may be in touch ;)

  9. YAY upgrade. I need one too, it's bad. I just have to actually go to the store!!!

Enjoy the heat wave, this cold is outrageously crazy, right?

  10. I really really really want that mug. No Krogers around here!

Our heater went on the fritz last night (fingers crossed it's the pilot light and a small part), and this morning was 46 degrees in my house. So I got myself a treat coffee this morning and hit the ground knowing it could only go up from there! Gotta accentuate the positive sometimes...even if it just means ignoring the negative for a little bit.

    TGIF!

  11. I can't believe you've gone so long with a phone like that! My phone is my lifeline (sad, but true) - I'd go crazy if it didn't work properly!

If you could send that heat wave this way that would be great! I swear I got frostbite from walking two feet to my car today. Is it Spring yet?!

  13. Being an adult sucks a lot when it comes to home repairs. Its all fun and games until you have to drop some $$ on something that is broken! Boo!

I want to hear how you like the Garmin Forerunner 10! And I am totally confused why I am not skinny after a good week of eating and hitting works outs too. Something is not right!

I hope you get a new phone girl! No one has time to deal with that! Have a great weekend!

  14. Woooo! Enjoy your laid-back weekend! I can't even imagine cooking and staying in every day during the week. That's a goal of mine at some point, but I just can't do it right now. Haha...I'm not a coffee person either, but that mug is ADORABLE. I can't wait to see your new design - you're so talented!

  16. I can't wait to move home and put my desk up and decorate. I have all these ideas and very little space to work with so that organizer would be perfect.

  17. It's definitely worth celebrating a whole week full of healthy, homemade meals! Have fun with the blog redesign--there's nothing more torturous to me than design and coding, but I'm glad some people enjoy it!

  18. I hope you have a great weekend and get a great workout in. I am training for a half marathon in June in the mountains of Colorado and then I'm going back to Minnesota to run my first marathon in October. Aaaaahh! I'm so excited. First half of the year is all about building a strong base so I can train happy and healthy.

  19. That desk organizer is awesome! And it sucks that you live in Cincinnati and not Columbus, or I would force you to go get coffee with me at some point.

  20. I so love your desk! I want it that way for mine too. :D

  25. I hope your weekend was as amazing as it sounded like. Cell phones are evil. I hope I get to get a new one soon although parts of me wants an old one so I can't spend so much time on it! haha Although Map My Run is my new addiction and it would be really great if you could download that app and we could be friends. Ok? Thanks! :)
