A Christmas Tradition

Last night Jared and I (along with our sibs) got to attend an awesome Christmas show for the fifth year in a row. It's so great having long-standing traditions like that, isn't it? There was a small chance we weren't going to be able to go this year and our group was definitely going to be disappointed if that happened. Luckily, a little Christmas miracle occurred and not only were we able to attend, we were able to have better seats than we ever have before!

Awaited is put on by a (huge!) local church and the event is completely free. This is no small production! 250+ performers! Beforehand there are plenty of Christmas goodies and hot drinks, photo-opp's and all kinds of fun.

My mom, Aunt and Grandma got to come for the first time too this year! Even though our seats weren't all together we got to hang out briefly before the show started. Isn't my Mamaw the cutest?!

The show didn't disappoint and definitely put me in the Christmas spirit. I love that this is something our foursome makes a point to do together every year. Sometimes at our age I think you're in that weird transitional phase where you're still doing some childhood traditions, but you're also making new ones with your own family and this is one I'm so glad we've started. What's your longest standing Christmas/holiday tradition?

  7. That sounds like such a cute tradition. We don't really have any as such, apart from going to the pub every Christmas day before Christmas dinner for a pint or two!

  11. a LONG standing family tradition is to attend the 4pm christmas eve service at our church where the handbell choir plays (i play in that choir) and then we go out do dinner at the same place - and then go look at Christmas lights. it's one of my favorite things to do over the holidays!

  16. You're just such a good-looking group of people. I've heard so much about Awaited and I've always wanted to go! I'm glad you had such an awesome time! My favorite long-standing Christmas tradition is doing a fondue dinner on Christmas Eve with my family. I always associate fondue with Christmas now.

  17. Aw, everything loooks so Christmas-y. I like what you said about long-standing Christmas traditions. In our house, it's watching Friends Season 1 from the moment we wake up (Dec. 24) until Christmas morning! =)

P.S. Your Mamaw IS the cutest!

  19. This looks like a wonderful tradition! Chris and I are trying to figure out what traditions we should start since this is our first Christmas as a married couple. So far, we've decorated a cute little tree in our apartment. We'll see what else we can work in over the next couple of weeks! :)
