Football Is Back

My weekend was so fun I made it last an extra day! Just kidding... don't I wish!? I was definitely back in my office yesterday, recovering from a sports-filled weekend. Jared and I went to our first (and likely only) baseball game of the year with my brother/sister-in-law Friday night. We knew the night would be fun, because our foursome always has a good time together so we were pumped to meet up downtown after work. Ridiculous amounts of food and amazing free seats? What could go wrong?

The Reds could play really bad... that's what! We still had a great time- and luckily those dark clouds didn't open up either, but goodness our team played terrible. Add in the Ohio State Buckeyes loss on Saturday night and I was starting to get nervous about the Bengals vs. Ravens game on Sunday!

But I had no reason to... my guys looked great and we started off the season WINNING in Baltimore, which is a huge deal. I  stuffed myself silly with too much junk food Sunday which was fun while it lasted. And then I just felt like a blob. A very large, but happy blob. Note to self- football season does NOT mean I can eat whatever I want! I can make it for others, but it doesn't mean I have to eat it!

It was fun having a group of friends and family over for the first official Bengals game. Nothing better than surrounding yourself with fellow die-hard fans who scream at the TV just as loud as you, who go along with weird superstitions and don't ask questions and who are happy to toss the victory football in your subdivision after the game. THIS is what fall is all about :)

The team now has two home games in a row and then the Bye week (already!!) so we won't be hosting another get together until next month. That's okay with me though. As fun as they are, I'm exhausted after a big shin-dig. Anyone else party too hard for their football-filled weekend? How about those fantasy teams? Jared beat me in week one, but that's no surprise ;) Cheers to football being BACK!

I'm with you, it always takes the FIRST football party for me to realized "I DON'T NEED TO EAT ALL THE THINGS"!!!! I try to limit myself to one indulgence and that's usually enough!

    Loving your hair.

  7. I am glad the Bengals beat the Ravens - i HATE the Ravens. As for my beloved Chiefs ... well we'll just not talk about them OK? OK. Thank goodness for the Royals ... which seems so weird to say, especially in September.

  10. Hooray! One game closer to the perfect season...haha! I've already packed it in with Ohio State this season - it's just not their year. That's okay as long as the Bengals win a playoff game! Also, that food looks amazing.

  12. Happy that the Bengals came away with the win (my fantast team was too!), but sad the Browns couldn't finish the second half with a win :( This was probably the first time I wasn't too terribly upset by a loss. They actually fought out there! And that food looks yummy! We stuffed ourselves with wings and tater tots :( UGH!

  14. As much as it pains me, good win for your guys this week. I have no idea what was going on with ours. As long as we beat the Steelers it makes up for it in my book, we definitely don't like them much more than the Bengals ;)

    1. LOL- such a heated division we're in! I can't believe the Browns almost came back against the Steelers. I probably would have been cheering for that ;)

  18. I too am thrilled that football season is back!! Too bad my Giants looked like poop last night and lost. But oh well, it is only week one! So happy that the Bengals won on Sunday... after reading the article about how the Bengals resigned Devon Still in order to help him pay for his daughter's cancer treatments I have decided that I can't help but love them! It is great to see something positive like that coming from an NFL team!

  19. I think football games = good food/you can eat what you want. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  21. While the Rams sucked and didn't win, at least our college team did so that's positive. Going to have watch parties ourselves eventually :)
