Fifteen

Fifteen things you "need to know" from me and my blog today seems like a ton, I know. I started the post with the intention of listing 5 things, but sometimes I just have a lot to say. Or a little bit to say about a lot of things- so roll with me and these next 15 if you wanna' get caught up in the world of Erin.

1. I'm not loving my job right now, and things got a little messy here last week. I know everyone thinks my job is super awesome, and while I'm incredibly thankful for paychecks and benefits? It's not always as amazing as it may seem. I wish I could talk about it more on here, but I also don't want to cross the fine line of over sharing career stuff. Never know who's reading, unfortunately.

2. Today I am finally completing 19 days in a row of working. So yes, I'm prettttty excited about the weekend ahead of me. Praise the Lord for time off!

3. But in true football-lover fashion, I just can't stay away from it. One of my clients gave us tickets for the OSU game this weekend and Jared and I are looking forward to cheering our hearts out tomorrow night.

4. I've officially started Christmas shopping and I bought a few things from Amazon already. You really can't beat their prices and two-day shipping from Prime. Plus, my Swagbucks are getting redeemed there so it's a double-win.

5. While I've jumped ahead to Christmas, I can't figure out what Jared and I should be for Halloween, yet. We've had some fun costumes in the past, but I really want to top them all this year. Big decision, I know. Suggestions?

6. Jared is freakin' cute. This is obvious of course, but sometimes it just needs to be said.

7. I officially have visible triceps now.  They are teeny, tiny little guys, but they are there. Jared may or may not have caught me checking 'em out in the mirror while imitating a rope pulldown the other day. It happens.

8. On days where sometimes I feel like I just want to shut down the blog, one of you always seems to pop up out of no where with something kind/encouraging to say, and it changes my mind. I can't thank you all enough, but know that I appreciate your words every time.

9. Some nights even when there are chores to be done and rooms to be cleaned, you just gotta push it all aside and watch a Disney movie. Gosh, why don't I live in Florida? Ohio is too far away from these guys.

10. Many of you have heard the Devon Still story now, I'm sure. If not, he's a Bengals player who's daughter has been battling stage 4 cancer. Well, her 6-hour surgery went great yesterday and the doctors removed ALL of her tumor, all of her lymph nodes and her right adrenal gland where it all started from. God is so good!

11. Jared and I started a donation bag/box and we're leaving it at the front door where we can't help but see it. I forget where I saw this idea, but an organizing blog I read does this and tries to make a trip to GoodWill every week or two. That way it forces her to not having anything in the house they don't love/need/use.

12. Last night's workout was one of the best I've had in awhile. Before we headed to the gym, I psyched myself up by looking through my favorite inspiring fitness gals on Instagram. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?!

13. EVERYONE I know is pregnant, and it kindof stresses me out. There, I said it.

14. I'm counting down the days until Thanksgiving. Yes, for the food of course, but mainly because I'll get to squeeze my little cute niece again. Why doesn't family all live in the same city? It should be a law.

15. Thanks for sticking with me (all 2 of you!) during this most random post. Hopefully after some actual downtime this weekend I'll feel like a normal person again and this blog might just be in better shape next week ;) Have a great weekend everyone!!

  1. I was just going to ask you about the Still Family. So glad it went well! You don't see that many dads active in kiddos lives anymore that it made my heart smile!

PS I hear about the pregnancy thing. I had a friend just announce it on FB of all places and while I liked the post I'm sure I'm in trouble for not commenting and asking when she wants her 2nd baby shower :/

  2. Bummer about your job. Hoooray for your first day off though, I hope you enjoy the Buckeye's game. I really want to get to one soon, since I married into an Ohio family!

I've started really trying to donate more, and not just in one big swoop. Smart move having the bag where you can see it, well thought out, friend.

I know! Pregnancy! IS! EVERYWHERE! Don't stress lady!!! Enjoy your sleeping in and shoe buying ;)!

YAY TRICEPS! ROCK IT OUT! xoxo

  3. Three of us, at least! We do the donation bag by the door too, but we're in the process of moving and I took another THREE trash bags to Goodwill the other day. HOW DO WE HAVE SO MUCH STUFF??? Ahem, sorry for yelling. Also, I'm not pregnant nor will I be any time soon, but I understand what you mean. Luckily I've only got one pregnant person (my sister) locally, so it's not stressing me out too much. I had to scroll past your Disney photo fast because Quinn is OBSESSED. Every single time the Disney commercials come on she says "I wanna go dere! Peeeeze???" And it's precious and annoying. She now comes up with plans such as "I gonna hug Mickey SO BIG." I'm really hoping we'll be able to go soon.

So, sorry for writing a comment almost as long as a post itself. :D

  11. I don't know how you can work so many days in a row.. after 3 I am already like SEE YA CAN'T WORK ANYMORE. I'm sorry about your job.. there is nothing worse than having to spend so much time at a place that you are not crazy about. makes Sunday nights really hard.

I like #6. :) i told one of my coworkers how much of a dreamboat i think Andrew is just because it felt like it needed to be said.

ENJOY your time off. I hope it is filled with relaxing and not stressing about your job. you deserve it!

  12. I was just thinking that having a big box somewhere I can fill with stuff to donate needs to happen.

Don't stress about everyone being pregnant, most of my friends have kids in high school while I'm over here waiting for mine to start kindergarten. I'm glad I don't have a kid in high school because that would have meant having a baby when I was really young and I don't think I was ready for the responsibility then and I'm glad I waited.

  13. Love, love your blog. I'm super jealous that you have a hubby that loves all things Disney. Mine is more a Universal kind of guy.

  15. Your life seems just about as crazy as mine...but also looks like you are embracing it! Have so much fun at the OSU game this weekend... You more than deserve it! I saw the Devon Still thing on ESPN yesterday & was so thrilled to hear it... Seriously made my heart so happy to know that something good is coming out of the NFL in the wake of so much bad. And for the pregnancy thing I feel you. Mark & I are coming up on our 1 year anniversary & now people feel the need to really start asking when we are having babies... But I mean, can I get a real job first people?! We have only been married a year & I am not 30 yet... We have time, right?

  16. Uhm....Ditto on the everyone is pregnant comment!!!! It's stressing me out too! :(

  17. Hope the OSU game is fun and that you can relax and take a good needed break from working this weekend!!! And I was once at the same stage of everyone, but me is pregnant and now look at me. Haha. Your time will come and it will be the perfect time! Love you!

  18. Yay for a college football game, so fun! I hope to go to one someday!

I am obsessed with Swagbucks right now, I'm so close to getting enough for a $25 gift card! And I'm really excited for the next time I will need to buy something from Amazon so I can get the Swagbucks for it!!

That is AMAZING news about Devon Still's daughter! Praise God!! Happy tears!

I love the donation bag idea, I definitely need to do that! I tend to gather donation stuff together and then it sits there for months because I keep forgetting to take it.

    Enjoy your time off!!

  19. I am at Goodwill quite a bit. I don't like hanging on to things that aren't serving a purpose.

I'm sorry you've had a rough time of it at work! Enjoy your weekend off. And congratulations on your triceps!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Love all of these little points. I can't wait to flop tonight and watch monsters university... #godisney!!!! Also? Yes to buying Christmas gifts. Caleb and I started buying random gifts here and there back in the Spring/summer. It's so amazing to get a head start and be ahead of the game when November rolls around!!
Love you!!! Enjoy this weekend off :) you more than deserve it.

  21. Glad you get some time off this weekend! Enjoy the game! And I absolutely loved this post for the randomness!

  22. Aww I hope work gets better soon somehow. Yay for the triceps! You should share some of your favourite workout moves :) Have a great weekend!

  23. Have funnnn at the game! And of course having a few days off!

    ReplyDelete
  24. As a new reader, I can say I appreciate how your keep things real around here. How fun you are, through your words. So don't walk away just yet. Maybe just take a step back.

And don't rush into having a baby... trust me.. it's a whole new kind of madness. Says that girl sitting in her pjs at almost 1PM and haven't brushed my teeth.

  25. Yay yay yay for finally being off this weekend! I know you absolutely deserve it. I do hope things get better for you with the whole work situation. That bag/box idea is a really good idea!! I'm going to have to copy you on that. Happy Friday!

  26. Hope work starts going better for you!! As for Halloween - not sure what you've done before, but I've been looking for cute ones for my kids (because they're babies and I can still pick ;) haha) and they are going to be Buzz and Jessie :) My next choice was Peach and Mario...in strollers with balloons so it's like Mario Kart. :) Looking forward to seeing what you are!

  27. I wish I didn't have plans all day tomorrow, so I could come party with you for the Bucks game! WAHHHHH!!! And I love that idea of the donation box! Might have to try that! Happy weekending!!!!

  28. So, so jealous of your Ohio State game this weekend! I hope you have the best time and take pictures! :) That is a genius idea to have a donation box/bag. We have so many random odds and ends and not enough room for the stuff we actually need. Sounds like the perfect solution. I was so very happy to hear about Leah yesterday! I'll be praying that her treatments go well moving forward! Enjoy your (short) break, pretty girl! You deserve it!

  29. omgosh girl. I'm right there with you with everyone being preggers. I want to have kids but not right now. I'm so jealous of the OSU game. can't wait to see all the photos.

  32. I hope you are relaxing on your couch today after many many busy days :) I love the idea of the donation bag. I think we need something like that here. I have really grown to LOVE decluttering.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I always love reading your posts! Hopefully you had a nice weekend away from work!! What is the organization blog? I could use to declutter!

    ReplyDelete
  34. #7? Totally do that. No shame! It's fun actually having real arm muscles. Also, #13? Just, yes. Hopefully job stuff gets better soon!

  35. i hate to hear you aren't loving your job right now. i can't imagine working the kind of schedule you have to in the fall/winter either. that's gotta be crazy hard. hopefully it all gets better soon and you got to recharge with the weekend off!

  36. Please don't shut down your blog, it's one of my favorites and that would be really sad if you did, thanks
