It's Your Choice

As much as I love blogging, sometimes it's tough to log-in to Blogger on a Monday morning. Or check my Twitter feed for that matter. Everything seems SO negative and it can be really draining to read that at the start of a week. We all have our bad days, our down days, me included! And everyone is definitely entitled to vent from time to time when needed. But sometimes I feel like I just can't handle the negativity from the general population on a Monday morning. Why does everyone have to say today will suck? Why does everyone instantly want it to be the weekend? Why do people feel the need to be extra grumpy and rude to each other today? It has to stop! Our attitude is something we choose every day. Any day of the week can be a great day if you choose to make it one.

I'm out there chasing my dreams every darn day... and not every day is easy! Trust me. It's a constant struggle to stay positive when things don't seem to be going my way. But I've found that the negativity can suck the motivation right out of you if you let it have that affect on you. Choose to have a good attitude today, it will make all the difference in your day-to-day life. I promise! So go have a HAPPY Monday :)

  3. It can be sooo tempting to fall into the trap of wah wah poor me, work is hard. But I try really hard to start off my week by just thanking God for a job that provides for us and pays our bills. Its easy to take it for granted but man I would hate Mondays (and everyday) far more if I was unemployed and couldn't make my mortgage payment!

  4. Love the positive energy! I like to look at it this way: We should all be thankful that we are alive & well to experience another Monday and upcoming week :)

  7. I agree, I get so tired of reading negative stuff on blogs. I try my hardest to stick to positive things. & you are right.. venting from time to time is okay & much needed. But all the time!? No thanks! I have had to cut some negative people out of my life, & also un-follow some negative bloggers. There is way to much negative in this world already! Happy Monday lady! <3

    1. It's tough when none of us really feel like getting up and heading to work most Mondays, I know! But, Monday's aren't going away so we might as well make 'em the best we can :)

  9. YES. Glad you said ALL of this, I agree! I hate seeing everyone's negative posts on Monday mornings. Of course everyone has a bad day every now and then an needs to vent but it can be very draining when they post it everyday/every Monday. Thanks for posting this!! :)

  10. LOVE THIS!!! I like to think of Mondays as a fresh start to the week, you wipe the slate clean of whatever happened the week before and you get to start all over, why is that a bad thing!?!

  11. I try hard to not be a negative Nancy but its hard sometimes. However I'm avoiding all social outlets BC of the chaos that arose in STL last night. Its just sad!

  12. Yes! Some Mondays really are dreadful but they sure don't all have to be! I like to reset and plan my week on Mondays so that's always something to turn my day around :) glad you are calling people out on it!

  19. I should probably read this every morning. Life is so hard and I can't change that, but I can change my outlook.

  20. I don't know what people are talking about. I think Monday is one of the best days of the week! I'm not even kidding.

  21. I've never been one to complain about a particular day of the week (though I do think Thursday is generally my favorite day). It definitely doesn't help anyone's mood to start the day with complaining!

  22. What a great quote!! I agree that there is no sense complaining about Mondays... but then again I also work every Friday and Sunday night... so Monday doesn't really bother me because I don't have a weekend lol Doesn't mean I don't make the most out of my Saturdays or that I don't try to get as much out of the weekend as possible. So HAPPY MONDAY to you too!!

  23. Love the positivity, girlfriend! It's not easy to change your outlook and it doesn't happen overnight, but I think being cognizant of the fact that your outlook is the only thing you can change is a big step in the right direction. I wish more people realized that! This is the #1 reason I can't stand Facebook haha!

  24. Why is it that we always look ahead and forget to just be? Love this post. :)

  25. I guess the one thing I never understood is why people insisted on hating Monday from the get go? I mean, what in the world can you do about it? If you don't have any more Mondays, wouldn't you be dead? I don't find that inviting.

  26. I love this so much! People think my life is so happy-go-lucky and we just have fun all the time... but I swear I am going through the hardest time I have in years!! (Although, my sweet faced, happy daughter does wonders to cheering me up in my low moments. She is such a blessing!) I just.... do my best to not be negative because, like you said, it's already such a negative world right now and I don't need to be bringing it down even more! Of course I'll keep it real and there will eventually be a blog post, but if I'm doing my best to be cheerful and look at the bright side of things, eventually I'll overcome this trial and be feeling that good about life all the time!

  29. I am right there with you - happiness is a choice. So is being grumpy and negative. We all have the power to choose wisely.
