I Wanna' See it All...

The past few years Jared and I have gotten to see quite a few new places. We've done a fair share of traveling within the U.S. and also have been to Mexico and the Dominican Republic which were both incredible. My vacation window is pretty small because of work, so I'm always looking pretty far ahead on the calendar and thinking about where and when we can get somewhere next. Just having that next getaway booked makes me so excited. I love having something to look forward to, especially something as fun as visiting a new place with my man.

The only "problem" now is that Jared and I can't seem to narrow down where we'd like to visit in 2015! There is so much that sounds fun and exciting and we just really wanna' see it all. A few of our top candidates right now are:

Grand Canyon/West trip:
I went out West once as kid and loved it, but neither Jared or I have either one seen the Grand Canyon. We'd love to plan a trip out West that let us see the Grand Canyon and possibly another national park. I've also had my eye on Lake Tahoe ever since a few blogs I read have traveled there-- I've fallen in love with their photos!

The Bahamas:
I just can't help it, I love a good beach vacation and will never get sick of gorgeous waters, soft sand and lots of sunshine. What's not to love?! My parents got to swim with dolphins here a couple years ago and I've been jealous ever since ;)

Alaska:
And then to completely go opposite from the beaches... an Alaskan cruise is something that has always interested me. I can't even imagine how awesome it would be to see views like this out your window!!

And then again... there's always Italy ;) #dreamvacation

We also hope to get some weekend trips in next year that only require a few hours of driving. Chicago has been on our list forever and I'm trying to convince Jared to take me for my birthday next year ;) So where should we go? Have you been to any of these places or have recommendations? It's so hard to narrow down the choices when everything sounds fun and exciting, but there's only so much vacation time (and moolah!) to use.

  1. I think the Grand Canyon is the one that entices me the most. Angel and I used to talk about going for a visit but it was always a little too far of a drive from Michigan...

  2. My top 2 on there would be Grand Canyon or Alaskan cruise...although they'd all be awesome so I can see why you're struggling!

  3. ALASKA ALASKA ALASKA!!! That glacier is even more beautiful in person, I promise!

  4. I say head out West, and you can hit up a lot more than the two you mention in the time frame you have. Or the bahamas, whether you do all inclusive or not. Someone told me about a great money saver for the bahamas that I'm looking into so if you're interested :)

  5. I have never been out West or to Alaska. I'm a little jealous of my in-laws, who are going on an Alaskan cruise in a few weeks!

  6. Alaska. Hands down. That is near the top of the list for us

  7. Ahhh, such a hard choice! All are such great picks!!

  8. We just went to Alaska in late June and to say it was BEAUTIFUL and FABULOUS is a complete understatement. We didn't do the cruise, we stayed in Anchorage and toured around. I highly suggest visiting!

  9. I may be biased, but The Bahamas was an incredible experience for us. We went for our honeymoon (that's my bias! haha), but it was really incredible to experience the culture and everything there. Plus, the views are pretty amazing!!!

  10. I would love to go to Italy. Do you guys drive to the destinations or take a plane? I would love to hear tips on how to pay for vacations or how to save? I love your choices!

    1. We do both... just depending on where we're going and how far of a drive it would be. We'd definitely be flying out West if we decide on that one. Once we start planning I'll definitely share our planning/paying tips for vacay! :)

  11. I planned on the Bahamas for next month but then I got an amazing deal on an all inclusive resort in Jamaica, we are leaving next month. If all you are looking for is great beaches and sand for a tropical getaway, I suggest looking into it!

    1. Ooh nice! We did a last-minute deal for our Punta Cana trip and got a great discount! Jamaica would be awesome to see too! :)

  12. I want to go to all of these places. If we ever win the lottery, traveling will be very high on my list of things to do.

  13. Well all of those options are great! If it were my trip, I would probably do the one out West because that's something on my bucket list to see. But you really can't go wrong with any of those spots :)

  14. All of these places look awesome! I have never been to Disney World ( you make me super jealous with all your recap posts!) so that is on my list. I would also love to visit NYC around Christmas time!!! Reminds me of Home Alone! I think Alaska would be awesome too.

  15. Chicago is SO much fun! We are hoping to go sometime again this winter.

My vote is Alaska! My grandma (who's been on a million vacations in the past few years) said Alaska was absolutely stunning. She's been to a bunch of different countries and she said so far the Alaska cruise has been her favorite.

    Good luck deciding!

  16. I vote all of them. haha! I'm with you though- our list of places we want to go is huge and I can't decide what I want to do first! I think coming up soon is a good beach vacation- we haven't done one in a lonnnnng time.

And Chicago definitely. I think we're actually going in a few weeks. It's a nice short trip and such a fun city!!

  17. Italy sounds amazing! Ive been to Bahamas and Alaska and I prefer Bahamas from the two! I'm the same way for planning trips way in advance and having little vacation time to do as much as I want to do. Already have 3 trips planned for 2015! lol

  18. Right now we agreed to go to Nashville/Memphis for our anniversary next year, but we've been talking about possibly switching it up for the Grand Canyon. Neither of us have ever been.

  19. I went to the Grand Canyon when I was 8 and while I liked it, I didn't really appreciate it. My parents loved it and I think I'd like it a lot more now too, 20 years later. :) My parents just returned from Lake Tahoe and said it was nice but there just wasn't a lot to do there. They were pretty surprised by that. I went to Italy for 2 weeks and loved it! Definitely suggest that if you guys can make it there!! :)

  20. I'm typically a beach person but we just got back from an Alaskan cruise and initally I was hesitant. However, it is absolutely gorgeous and I would go again in a heartbeat! It really does look like that when you look outside and we went to that exact picture you posted and it was breathtaking! Do it! Good luck picking a vacation spot, wherever you go will be wonderful! :)

  21. I've been vacation dreaming lately too...not sure when we'll have the time or money to go on a big one, but that doesn't stop me from mentally planning them ;) I have no interest in going on a typical Caribbean cruise, but I would love to go on an Alaska cruise! It seems like such a great way to explore an amazing place. My parents went to the Bahamas earlier this year for their 30th anniversary and we almost went ourselves earlier this summer. I hate flying but it's so easy to get there that that will probably be our next island vacation.

  22. An Alaskan cruise or trip out west sounds amazing!! I love planning for vacays :)

  23. I would absolutely love to go on an Alaskan cruise! It has been on my list of possible vacations for a while. The trip out West is nice, too. Grand Canyon isn't far from Vegas (which is a must-see at least once), the Hoover Dam, and a few other gorgeous national parks (Zion, in particular). This is a little random, but I highly recommend New Orleans. I'm not a drinker or a partier, but I really love the vibe in NOLA. Such a cool feeling, great food, and lots of history. Of course, I'd suggest Italy above everything else.

  24. You really can't go wrong with ANY of these choices. We took a family trip out West and to the Grand Canyon once. It was beautiful, but would love to have spent a little more time there. We also took a cruise to Alaska. I really enjoyed that trip. SO much to see and do! I pictured everything there so cold and icy, but it was beautiful, green, and the weather was great! Plus, who doesn't love a cruise?!? :) And Italy is my absolute favorite European country. Lovely cities and delicious cuisine!! I've always loved every moment of my time in Italy! Good luck making a decision!! I know you'll have an amazing time wherever you go!!

  25. Wow you have a tough decision to make it seems! All of those places look gorgeous! However, cruises would be out for me right now because...well shark week happened and I'm not about to go near any large body of water for at least a few more months bahaha.

  26. This is awesome! So many great places to visit! If you've never been to Nashville, I'd definitely check it out and then drive out a little further east to Asheville, NC. I hear it's absolutely beautiful (especially in the fall)!

    Happy travels!!

  27. Alaska is on my list! The next best park other than the Grand Canyon is Bryce Canyon, Canyon lands, and Arches!

  28. Don't plan on spending a ton of time seeing the Grand Canyon....its one of those places you see and its awesome and amazing and beautiful and then 10 minutes later you are over it!

  29. Nowwwww all I can think about is traveling again lol thanks a lot ;) Alaskan cruise is on my list for sure...soo pretty!!

  30. If you haven't been to Yellostone, it is AMAZING.
The Black Hills/Mount Rushmore is great
Arches National Park in Utah is beautiful and I hear that bryce canyon is beautiful as well.

  31. tough decisions...for some reason I always equate Alaskan cruise with old people? Even though I know it's gorgeous and all, but everyone that I know that's gone was older. Although Disney just opened a cruise to alaska, I'm going to wait till the kids get older and do that one, fun! I'm a sucker for beach vacations, went to Barbados, awesome place, super nice people. But I think I would pick the Grand Canyon and maybe do Zion (for your national park) and the Angels Landing hike...that would be awesome!

  32. I'm working on my 101 in 1001 days, and I have a travel section. There is so much I want to still see and do. While we were living in AZ we didn't get to see the Grand Canyon.

  37. This isn't helping with my wanderlust! Chicago is the next place I want to see but I already have two trips to Vegas in the planning stages for next year so I don't see it happening any time soon :( I'll just have to live vicariously through you!

  38. They all sound fabulous! I can see why you & the man having some problems picking a place. With me, it's always a place where I can bake in the sun on the beach. :)

  42. The title of this post immediately made me think of Terri Clark's song "I Wanna Do It All" from back in early 2003 LOL. I definitely want to visit all these places, too! If you are ever traveling through Tennessee let a sista know so we can meet up! :)

  43. I just went to the Grand Canyon and loved it (we only did a quick day trip) but it was absolutely gorgeous, totally lived up to the hype! But...... if Italy is a possibility that would be freakin' awesome!

  44. My vote is Tahoe because it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been :)
