Currently

What do you when you're not sure what to write about? You find a link-up to participate in, of course! I'm joining Jenna and Anne today for their "Currently" link-up. I always think these are fun to both write and read because it gives you just an extra glimpse into the bloggers life, when it otherwise might be a topic they may not mention in a post.

I'm currently...

Reading: Reunion, by Karen Kingsbury. It's the fifth and final book in this mini-series of hers. Ever since I saw Karen speak at a conference back in April I haven't been able to put her books down. This is my 7th book of hers. SINCE APRIL! After this one I may have to take a small break from her otherwise I'll never read anyone else's stuff again!

Enjoying: This week and the free time Jared and I have been able to spend together. July was seriously nutso. The past week we've had time for reading, working on puzzles and taking evening walks together. I love it! There is nothing better than quality time with my man. Except maybe quality time with my man on the beach ;)
Punta Cana beach

Listening To: Lots of instrumentals on Pandora. Jared and I call it our "writing music" and have been trying to really carve out some relaxing, no-distraction time for us to focus on our projects. Nothing like a little classical musical in the background to make you feel like a real writer.

Photographing: Lots of random things lately. Food, a lot... because that's what us bloggers do, right?

Feeling: A bit overwhelmed. Life has a way of trying to pull us in a million different directions all at once. But at the same time, I'm feeling extremely grateful that I have Jared to keep me grounded and remind me that we will get things done in due time. And remind me that we need to start planning a vacation for 2015. Who am I kidding?! I NEVER need reminded of that!!

  1. Karen Kingsbury is my favorite author! My mom had given me one of her books quite a few years ago & as soon as I finished, I dove head first into the rest of them. I have read all of them and consistently check to see if a new one is available yet. :)

  8. We are in the same boat about already planning for 2015. I feel like we're going to shoot for another Hard Rock, but the one in Punta Cana. We have a friend getting married in Riviera Maya but they aren't sure if they want friends definitely yet so it'll depend on that.

  9. I'll have to check her out when I need a new book. I wish I could listen to music when I'm working - I seriously can't focus with any sound for some reason!

  11. Karen Kingsbury books are my absolute favorites!!!! Have you read Even Now and Ever After yet? They're a two book series and guaranteed to make you cry! The Baxter Family sagas are my very favorite though. I actually have a printout of all of her books in order and I've been making my way through it... I'm weird...

  14. When we work from home, my husband and I tend to listen to either musical scores or instrumental classics - it's enough to keep us entertained, without being distracting :)

  25. I LOVE Karen Kingsbury! Her "Baxter Family Series" has been my favorite series of books, EVER. I still find myself thinking about them and wondering what they're up to and then I remember they are FICTIONAL characters from a series of books that I read YEARS ago. :)

What are some other books/authors that you've enjoyed?

  26. Shawn told me the other day that we need to plan a vacation for 2015. I was like, finally, we're on the same page! My family took a vacation every summer since I was 6 and I want to continue that tradition with Shawn and our own kids - whenever they come along. But I have been trying to groom Shawn for years about the benefits of the yearly vacation - preferably the beach though he protests somewhat because he's a redhead. But yay to vacation!!
