Things I Should Have Learned By Now

1.  If you're going to prepare food for the crockpot in the morning, put your mascara on AFTER you chop the onions.

2. Speaking of the mornings? No, you cannot sleep in another 10 minutes. You are a slowpoke and need that time to get your life together and get to work on time.

3. Candy is dangerous. Don't buy it. When you receive it, immediately take it to work and share unless you do indeed want to eat that entire bag of Brach's Marshmallow Chicks and Bunnies in one evening.

4. Laundry isn't so bad when you do it little by little throughout the week. Waiting until you have 13 loads of it is stressful- don't let that happen!

5. Your hair does not work well with the 'dirty hair' look. Wash it every.single.morning.

6. Going weeks without a pop and then having one late at night is not a good idea. Your stomach will hurt and you will have weird dreams of a fox parade following you home from work that night.

7. Your age seriously does not matter. Keep doing whatever you love doing and pursue your dreams until they come true. Even if it takes you until you're 60… but let's hope that's not the case.

8. You are given sick days for a reason. Use them and don't feel guilty!

9. Some people in your life will be mean and hard to deal with. It sucks, but negativity is part of life, just don't let it affect yours!

10.  However… love the friends and family you've got with everything in you. Because, they are what matter most. Like my good friend Olaf said, some people are worth melting for.

  3. I have super oily hair and have to wash it every day... sad day!!!

  4. EVERY time I bring 6 loads of laundry downstairs to my basement, I promise myself that I will do it one load at a time throughout the week. And then there I am, 3 weeks later, promising myself the same thing again!

  5. #5 - dry shampoo is wonderful!

  6. I definitely laughed at not putting on mascara before chopping the onions. That is VERY true!

  7. The laundry monster is the worst! One load at a time is better, but hard to get myself to do.

    Olaf, so cute.

  8. Mmmmhmmmm, gurl. <---that was my reaction as I nodded my head in agreement to all of the things. But really, I WILL remember to bring all our leftover Easter candy to rehearsal tonight to giveaway. I will remember...

  11. Girl you need to get you some dry shampoo! Dirty hair is no bueno on me either but that stuff lets me rock the two day hair all the time!

  12. Oh the laundry thing! Always when I'm running low on underwear I curse myself for not doing the laundry sooner!

  13. Marshmallow chicks & bunnies are one of my all-time favorite Easter candies...however, I do not buy them cuz I would sit & eat until I had a stomach ache. Never good.

A lot of these things are me especially the one about sleeping another 10 minutes! Tee hee!

  14. Nodding my head right along with you ma'am!!! Love every last one of these. I need to remember to wash my hair every single morning. Some days the greasy pony just shouldn't even happen!

  16. Some of these made me laugh out loud. So, so true!

  17. Seriously, these are some important things to learn. If only we did actually learn.

  18. Ahaha love this. Especially the snoozing for 10 minutes, candy and laundry! We let laundry pile up way too long and then we both get mad about it! It's our own fault hah!

  19. You are worth melting for!! :) So many of these are true! Okay, actually 1-10 are all 100% accurate!!

  20. I need to learn all of these things - especially, that calling in sick is OK! I literally make myself more sick by staying home because I feel guilty all day long!!

  21. I wish there was a washing machine in my house so I could do laundry as soon as it is ready!

    1. Well there's one in our basement and I still can't seem to keep up with mine ;)

  22. I have to remind myself of many of these as well. Like not sleeping an extra 10 minutes, not putting of laundry, chopping onions before mascara, and basically not eating all of the candy. Also, I can not really pull off the second day hair either...yet alone the third day that some people do!!!

  23. Still trying to get #2 down! The mornings just come so soon!!

Now I want to watch Frozen for the 132th time :)

  24. I love #7!

I have two weeks of laundry laying on my bedroom floor waiting to get washed - and the washing machine is right across the hall from my room. I need a laundry fairy!

I am the same way when it comes to sick days. I'm the boss so I always feel guilty that something will come up when I'm not there that no one else can deal with. Got to work on that!

  25. #2. Learned that the hard way again this morning and the whole speeding ride into work I repeated to myself, stop hitting snooze, stop hitting snooze. haha.

  26. I laughed out loud when I pictured a parade of foxes following you home from work!

I was able to kick my snooze button habit when I realized that snoozing means I don't have time to make coffee. And the only thing worse than waking up to an alarm is waking up to an alarm and having no coffee.

  27. Fox parade?!? Hahahah!! I love it. That's up there with some of my weird dreams.

Ugh, the candy. EVERYONE has brought their Easter candy to work, and the food table is right by my desk which means I can't help but think about candy all day long. And I've eaten way more than I should. I wish some people would leave it at home :)

  28. I love this. Just want to hug this whole post. Seriously, all but #1 had my nodding in agreement only because I don't cook. I don't even know where my crockpot is.

  29. Amen to #8. And along with that, when you're sick, STAY HOME.

I absolutely adore that quote from Frozen.

  30. i always try to give myself "just 10 more minutes", "just 5 more minutes", "just 2 more minutes" -- it ALWAYS results with me running around like a chicken with her head cut off! hah glad i'm not the only one who tries to sneak just a little bit more sleep in the mornings

  31. I love Olaf. He's such a wonderful friend.

Zach doesn't let me get more sleep. If my alarm goes off and I climb back into bed, he will nonstop talk to me until I get out of bed and start getting ready.
