Spring Bucket List

Spring is HERE!! Happy first day of Spring, wherever you are, even if it doesn't quite feel like your weather got the memo yet. It's 55 here today in Ohio, so I'll take it. Yesterday was a gloomy, rainy day, but I secretly loved it. Spring showers are the best! Now if only I could have left work to take a nice long nap during that rain, THAT would have been the ideal way to kick off Spring ;)

I try to embrace most seasons (okay, except winter... I'd be okay if I never saw a snowflake again!) but Spring is definitely my favorite. The weather, the flowers, my birthday, our anniversary, Easter... I just love it all so I wanted to make a Spring bucket list to be sure I fit in as many fun activities as possible. Some are fun, some are simple but here's to checking them all off the list!

1. Hit up our local farmer's market.
I cannot wait for all the freshy-fresh produce to make it's way to our market. I'm looking forward to picking up some local, yummy and healthy items soon!

2. Fix up our yard/plant some flowers.
Feel free to drop this into my backyard- thanks.

Jared and I have definitely put our yard on a back-burner in the past few years, so we're ready to really make it look good! We want it to be a lot more inviting for when we…

3. Have people over for a backyard BBQ!
I don't think we hosted an outdoor type of party once last year, yikes! Time to change that up, whip up some yummy food, play cornhole and just had a good time enjoying the warmer weather.
This is from Easter at my in-laws a couple years ago- such a fun day!

4. Go hiking and/or biking with Jared.
While Jared and I work out and run together pretty regularly, we both want to mix it up and do different 'active' things together. We aren't far from a really great bike trail and also many parks we could walk/hike in, so it's a shame we haven't done it more.

5. Make some Easter crafts.
Easter is my favorite holiday. Yes, you read that correctly and yes, I might be the only person who loves Easter this much! Yet somehow we have hardly any Easter decor in our house so that will be changing very, very soon. And if my crafts fail? I'll hit up Hobby Lobby ;)

6. Attend a baseball game!
Another something we love to do and barely made time for last year. We can get Reds tickets so cheap, so there's really no reason not to get to a few games this spring/summer. Looking forward to picking one out and having a fun date at the ballpark with Jared!

7. Keep up with our Spring cleaning.
At least we've gotten a good start on this one! We've filled up quite a few bags and donated to GoodWill, and still have a long way to go. We just need to go after it little by little or I get overwhelmed by how MUCH there is to do.

8. Have a yard sale.
Our first official yard sale WILL happen in the next couple of months. Even though we've donated a lot, we still have a ton of things we want to try to sell. Sallie & Perkins would happily take that extra cash to speed up the debt repayment, as well! Fingers crossed people want to buy our junk!

9. Find a free/cheap local event to attend.
There are so many things going on in our community this Spring! I've already written down most of them in my planner so we won't miss them. Some of Jared and I's favorite dates have been just the random days we wander out to do something or see something we've never done!

10. Wash/detail our cars!
My car is disgusting. No sugar coating it, it's bad. I'm waiting for a nice, warm Saturday to put the car in the driveway and go to town on it. Whew, it needs it!

What's on your list for this Spring??

  11. Spring cleaning will begin here when it warms up a little more! Half of our house is unheated so I just don't go in those rooms till it warms up! And our cars need cleaning badly after all the snow and salt and mud. It's supposed to be 50 but raining tomorrow, which will be the warmest day we've had!

  14. Can I just copy and paste your spring bucket list into my blog? K, thanks. Shawn and I are Indians fans, but we are not above coming to Cincy to see a little Ohio rivalry if you want to get us tickets...just sayin' ;) I'm hoping that this spring Shawn and I can finally get bikes! We had no where to store them at our condo, but now that we have a nice big garage to put them in, I'm totally down for some biking together. Shawn isn't a runner, so I can't run with him which gives me the sads. But he said he would like to get bikes. I'm all over that!! And that backyard photo you posted is to.die.for!!!! I have no idea what plants are even planted around our new house, so that should be fun. Is it bad that I'm all like "just rip all the plants our and let's start over" ? Happy spring, friend!

  15. I was just about to say, man you got a gorgeous backyard!

When I have a house, I want to have a yard sale too. With the amount of stuff we have in storage (ie, two sets of pans when we got married we got new ones, etc) I would think we'd make a few dollars.

  28. First off... LOVE the picture of the backyard... I can only dream that one day my backyard will look that amazing. Hey, a girl can dream, right? I am so excited that it is spring and that warmer weather should hopefully be right around the corner. I can't wait for window shopping in downtown West Chester, meals outside, grilling... plus all the fun festivals that the warmer weather brings!! All in all I really think I just can't wait to be able to spend more time outside!

  29. You have GOT to try some white sweet potatoes (if you haven't already)!!! They are so yummy and great roasted. I'm pretty sure that you liked my IG photo last night but seriously.. I got two summer squash, two small white sweet potato, an onion, and a handful of baby carrots. I preheat the oven to 425, mixed all of the veggies in a bowl with garlic powder, greek seasoning (any season you like would work), and a little EVOO-- just enough to LIGHTLY coat the veggies..cooked until tender and they were so darned good. I could have made myself sick eating it. I want to go back to the store and buy them out of the white sweet potatoes and I may not ever get the regular ones again :)
