Our Lives Aren't Always Picture-Worthy

You know you're extra-boring when even your husband so kindly says, "Yeah, we haven't done anything picture-worthy in a long time" after reading through the last couple weeks of your blog posts. Now that's not to say we haven't been having fun… but January is most certainly my hibernation month. I think it takes a full four weeks for me to recover, so excuse me while I spend my weekends in sweatpants and sans makeup or clean hair. And forgive me for being the bad blogger with no recent pictures lately either… I promise this is still Erin writing this blog, and I still live with Jared. Oh, look- Photobooth to prove it!!

I say that, to say that I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Jared and I are planning on being a little adventurous this weekend if the weather cooperates. I'm looking forward to putting on actual clothes, possibly straightening my hair and attempting to look cute for a fun day with him :) I bet he is also thankful he won't be dragging me out of the house against my will anymore.

I'm also proud to say I have officially gotten over the heartbreaking loss of my own team- just in time for the Super Bowl, of course. I think I'll be rooting for the Broncos this weekend, you can't help but love Peyton Manning, I'm sorry. Seahawks fans, don't hate me! Ahem… Sarah ;) Let's be real, since the Bengals aren't playing Sunday? I'm more concerned about picking which delicious side dish to bring to our party and looking forward to fun with family and friends.
ALSO- In case y'all haven't noticed? Today is the last day of the month, meaning our January Spending Freeze is lifted tomorrow. (Insert angels singing here!) If you participated, don't forget to have your posts ready to link up next Tuesday, Feb 4th! I am so looking forward to reading them all--- failures, successes, stories, we want it all!

So what are your weekend plans looking like? Do they revolve around the Big Game? Or maybe just some moments that aren't so picture-worthy? :)

  2. I'm excited to get on there and talk out the spending freeze from this month. I hope you and Jared get to enjoy your weekend together and get lots of pictures to take. I was waiting for you to say you were going for the Broncos because of the orange but I do agree Peyton is just so like-able. Happy Friday sweet friend. Hope it's the best one yet.

  6. We haven't decided yet if we're going out to watch the game or just staying in with the kids. But we have to root for the Seahawks here with Russell Wilson being an ex-Badger. Although Montee Ball was a Badger too. So I guess I'm happy either way. This is the first Super Bowl in awhile that I've been excited to watch. Excited for both teams. Have fun :)

  11. Y'all are cute even in sweats!!!!!!! And seriously I'm always hibernating in Jan/Feb. I never date during these months. Or try to find a potential mate, I should say. And this year? I am. Maybe because I'm weirdly fearful of spending valentines day alone? Oh okay. Damn Hallmark.

I am soooo glad you mentioned food, I have one of your football food posts bookmarked and I was trying to think of something to make for my sister and I on Sunday. I am happily off to that bookmark to find something delicious!!!

  16. Being from Omaha! I think I just have to root for the Broncos too...I mean otherwise it would be just wrong, right??

  17. I'm not rooting for either team. I do believe the Broncos will win (do you know how much it pains this die hard Chiefs fan to say or even think that?).
    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Oh trust me, it pains me every year to see the confetti rain down on the field of the Super Bowl winners and I just just sit there and wish it was black and orange and that we were there!!

  20. I'll also be cheering for the Broncos this weekend, too! I love Peyton, I just can't help myself. Also my blog completely had no pictures of me (or anything) during my phase of unemployment / first trimester of pregnancy.... my Instagram account became even more bare... I hear ya when it comes to living an un-picture-worthy life for a while!

  21. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!! Did you know that I was born in Colorado?! My mom grew up there and I still have a bunch of family there! So there will be one VERY excited 88 year old Greek man in Colorado on Sunday :) Plus, Eric Decker is a GOPHER. SO you can't go wrong!

  22. I have two dates this weekend. One starts today & will go through um, probably Sunday morning around 10. It's with my bed, netflix and Kyle Chandler. The other date? It involves blue & khaki, a time clock and being nice to rude people. I'm obviously looking forward to the first one more.

  27. Just today I was telling my husband that we had yet to take any pictures TOGETHER in 2014--true, I was traveling most of January, but it's fun to have proof that sometime I am with my man!! So we went sledding this afternoon and I got my picture. :)
