Thursday Thoughts

This morning, as I was sitting in traffic for an extra-long amount of time (thank you rain, and people of Cincinnati who freak out over it) my brain was all over the place. I felt like I'd had 6 cups of coffee, even though I was simply sipping on my ice water. So on days like these, I just feel it's easier to pour out these random things into bullet-form. Besides, I love lists. Who doesn't?!

--- Last night I had some CRAZY vivid dreams. I'm talking a mix between Hunger Games, The Walking Dead and Survivor. Oh, and Jena? You took Jared and I in, and we so appreciate that. ;)

--- People seem to get meaner around the holiday season! Everyone is in a hurry and extra-grumpy as soon as Thanksgiving is over it seems. Yuck- don't let that be you.

--- My sponsors are all pretty awesome and you should join them

--- I've been dreaming about vacation a LOT. Oh, did I mention we have one booked & paid for already?  We debated on if we should take one or not, since we're trying hard to pay off our student loans.... but an amazing deal came along that we just couldn't pass up. "I'm excited" is a major understatement.

--- Most of my Christmas shopping is done, which feels fantastic. Jared and I have been much better this year about buying a couple items here and there so we just have a couple more things to purchase and we'll be officially done. I had to tell Jared we CANNOT buy any more Christmas wrapping paper this year... I counted, we have NINE different rolls. Whoops.

--- I got to have dinner with my high school bestie Tuesday night and as always, it turned into 3 hours of conversation and laughter. Love that girl so much, I can't believe we've been friends for 14+ years now. Friendships like that are few and far between, so I don't take it for granted.

--- Tonight I'm going to a women's only Advent service at our church and I'm really excited about kicking off the festivities.

--- My work life is CRAZY, and I've been a bad blog reader/friend, but don't give up on me!! :)

---When life gets crazy, my motto is 'crank the music and have a dance party' because it just makes everything better.

What random things are you thinking about today??

  4. Ok.. so I want to touch of couple of these thoughts (and in no real order). First, I hate that people start to be ugly this time of year. While I've been accused of being a Scrooge.. I try my BEST to be pleasant, sweet, and oh so joyful- especially this time of year. I always smile and engage with people because I know what it's like to feel "dark" inside and I absolutely feel like you should be nice and compliment people because you never know what they are personally dealing with, so your niceness may be the ONLY "nice" they experience. Why not? Right-- what does it hurt you!? Lately.. I've been dancing and being silly more than usual. I had to drop Rob off at work EARLY the other day and let me tell you-- I was off work and don't like Christmas music (unless it's at the midnight mass at church).. but I blared it and was dancing and singing. And then last night I was cutting a rug (if you can do that while sitting) and having a blast in the car after going to the store. It's amazing how great it can make you feel! And lastly, for Vacay-- my vote is that you and Jared come to Pensacola. We have beautiful beaches and rivers.. museums and more. Plus, a free tour guide-- ME! XOXO

  13. Is that what you're checking off your 30 before 30 list? I've been dying to know :) You know me and my lists, I'm a tad bit obsessed. Also, we should really make time in the day for rock o'clock - especially since we're in the same time zone now.

  15. Where are you guys going on vacation? That's a battle kevin and I often fight in our heads, to spend money on a vacation or put it towards our loans. Ultimately we've decided that we have to enjoy our life and live a little so we choose to take trips that allow us to make our base payments.

  18. I'm new to following your blog...but I must say I LOVE it!!! Really enjoying it all! I'm trying NOT to be one of THOSE cranky people this year - I know I know...it's terrible (but I'm never rude to people...I just tend to over stress this time of year!) My husband and I LOVE to have dance parties in our kitchen :) Best times EVER!!!!!

  22. The same thing happens in Kentucky when it rains!! It's been raining ALL day and they say that we are going to get an icy/snowy "wintry" mix but I don't believe them. Whenever they think something big will happen most of the time it doesn't!! Yay for having a vacation booked! Are you going to Disney again or HHI?! Both are two of my favorite vacation spots! :)
