It Will All Be Worth It

I'm sure by this point in the year I sound like a completely broken record. It's a wonder I ever come up with anything to say on this blog during football season… but most days I still find myself landing here and typing out whatever comes to mind. It might not make as much sense as it does in the off-season, but I'm here, nonetheless.

I've lost count of the hours I've put in at work this month or even this week; there is no end in sight and although that's incredibly scary to think about? It also means we're winning. My Bengals ended their regular season at 11-5 with a big win over the dirty birds of Baltimore yesterday afternoon. This city is pretty excited and we are headed into the playoffs at full-steam.

This means even LONGER hours than I've been working, even MORE work than I've already been putting in…. and even LESS sleep than I've been semi-functioning on. I'm embarking on a stretch of at least 16 days straight of work, possible more. That pains me a little bit to even type that! So bare with me as my life revolves around the men in orange and black for a little while longer… hopefully until February 2nd

In the meantime, I'll be greeting the gorgeous sunrises in our city each morning, and leaving long after the sun has set each night. The work'll all be worth it as long as we keep winning. Bonuses and a shot at a super bowl ring? Count me in! So if your team is out of the playoffs this year? Go ahead and cheer for the Bengals, for my sake, of course ;)

  6. LOVE your positive attitude. And I need to remember this when I'm complaining about a measly little 40 hour work week. (Also - I am now a huge Cincy fan for you! As long as they don't come in contact with my Saints that is haha) (Also also, if they go to the Super Bowl, does that mean you get to go?!)

  7. I will proudly jump on the Bengals bandwagon since my team has been dead for a while (and just this morning fired their coach). You deserve a Super Bowl ring. Hang in there and just think, at least you aren't missing the beautiful sunshine of summertime... sorry, I'm trying to find something good about it.

  9. Since the Bengals did their part and beat up on the Ravens, even though my Dolphins failed miserably, I will definitely be rooting for the Bengals this Playoff season. After my day of mourning the the loss of the Phins playoff hopes, of course...

  11. My Eagles just got ourselves into the playoffs last night but if we go out before you, then I definitely will! :) Keep your head up - you can do this!!! :)

  12. Since my Chiefs are still in it, I won't be rooting for the Bengals - however, I am more than thrilled that they knocked out Baltimore!

  13. Oh I probably will cheer for your team, just because a) the Rams are out and b) you crack me up with all the cheering you do for them already, might as well join your bandwagon :)

  14. Well I don't really have a team since I never cared for the Falcons while in GA, but being in Charlotte, I've been sending good wishes to the Panthers BUT I've also been sending them to the Bengals for you and Christian, too ;)

  16. Wahoo, I'm in the exact same boat! I think lots of people are probably sick of all my football posts, but I just can't freaking help it... NFC West Champions, and I was there to see it!! It's going to be an exciting few more weeks until Super Bowl! :-)

  17. Our flight was delayed so we only made it to the stadium in time for the second half. We were we ecstatic with our big win over the Ravens! Undefeated at home and it feels soooo good. So excited to watch them play at home for the playoffs. Who Dey!

  18. The game made me way too nervous yesterday! Hopefully this week will be less stressful with a positive ending! Go Bengals!

  19. Can't root for the Bengals with the Hawks (obviously) still in it ;) However, the Bleacher Report (dec 24 article) did say this in their argument for why the Bengals could reach the Super Bowl: "The Bengals on the other hand, are a bit of a dark horse in this year's playoffs, but are no less deadly than a team like Denver." ... then they gave a Hawks/Bengals score prediction that you won't like, so I won't leave it in a comment... but you just never know! Good luck with the long, long hours!

  20. Well maybe I'll start cheering for your Bengals since my Cowboys just lost their playoff chance last night in the most miserable of ways. Best of luck making it through your long stretch!!
