Incredible.

Well, I'm back, I'm functioning and I've even got clean clothes on today! If that's not success after being off from work 4 days, I don't know what is?! In all seriousness, I have never gotten that much time off from work for any holiday and it was incredible. Incredible really doesn't even do it justice! At the start of last week I felt a tiny cold coming on, so a long, lazy weekend was exactly what I needed. I was able to enjoy time with the family, overeat (of course) and gets lots and lots of rest in preparation of this crazy December ahead of us.
We spent Thanksgiving Day with my mom's side of the family doing the usual Thanksgiving stuff…. eating, lounging, talking, watching the only little one in the family be absolutely adorable, etc.
Betcha' you'd never know these were my parents, right?! !;)
My adorable grandparents. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary the day before Thanksgiving!!

After our third dessert plate, Jared and I did a quick lap around Walmart shortly after they "opened" at 6pm for the sales… it was packed, of course, and we did some seriously good people watching. We ended our night by seeing Catching Fire, which was SO great. Definitely better than the first Hunger Games movie. I may have teared up and/or gotten goosebumps more than once and Jared may/may not have made fun of me ;)

The rest of our weekend was all that laziness I was talking about. I'm pretty sure I stayed in pajama's all day Friday while we got out our Christmas tree and decorations and transformed our house into a winter wonderland. It was so nice to just spend so much uninterrupted time with Jared for a few days. It feels so rare that we ever get days like that, so we enjoyed every last minute of the long weekend together. I love that man! ;)

The Bengals winning last night was the cherry on top of one great, holiday weekend. December is truly going to be chaos most of the time, so I'm trying to keep my head on straight and gear up for what's ahead. I know everyone gets busy this time of year, but it seems like mine is triple the normal 'load' so here's hoping I can enjoy it more than I stress about it!

How did you spend your long, holiday weekend?? Anyone doing any Cyber Monday shopping today??
