Highs and Lows

Monday's are always a time in blog world to come talk about how amazing our lives are, share 52 pictures and show off how much fun we had over the past couple of days. Am I right?? I'm right. For me, it would be so easy to turn this blog post into a formal complaint today. A big long rant about all the things that annoyed me or the various things that sucked about this weekend.

I could write about the snow and ice we got Friday night that made my drive home from work take two solid hours. Or how I worked over 60 hours last week and haven't had a day off this month yet and can barely keep my eyes open. I could also mention my nine-year-old car and how she is just not adjusting to the cold weather very well and I'm worried she's going to crap out on me at any minute.

But I'm not even going to dwell on those things. We're going to find the positive, because that's the only way to keep on keepin' on. It's the only way to live. It's the only way to survive in this crazy, busy world.

So although Saturday was a rush of working and running home to get ready and head to Jared's work party? It was worth it. They gave everyone play money for casino games and at the end of the night we got to cash those into drawings for some amazing prizes. Jared tore up the craps table and I found the nicest blackjack dealer in the place and stuck with her for the night :)

Somehow, Jared and his brother BOTH ended up winning tablets!!! We have been contemplating getting one for a month or so now, so that prize was awesome!

And you know how exhausted I am because of work?! Well as long as my Bengals keep winning, it's all worth it. We're 9-4 and sprinting towards the playoffs, baby!! It's a whirlwind of excitement around there, but the energy at the office is soaring and makes the days go fast. This week we have our Christmas party which I know will be filled with amazing food, gifts from the big wigs and hopefully a nice little Christmas bonus.

What were the highs and lows of your weekend??

  1. This weekend was really awesome, because I used the weather as an excuse to stay in my house and not move for 48 hours. So...yes awesome.

  10. Jared's work party looks like what we used to do back when I worked for a dealership. It was a casino theme, with all kinds of prizes and such...I won a TV one year! That is awesome that you won a tablet!!!

Lows this weekend - All three of us ended up sick, we had to cancel Xavier's birthday party, and the Browns lost a game that they never should have lost!

Highs - Being sick gave us some much needed down time, we had a great visit/mini birthday celebration with mom, and I crossed a few more Christmas gifts off my list!

We decorated this weekend but I wasn't feeling great, we had fun anyway so I can't complain. I could complain about my Panthers losing to the Saints last night but I won't, we will do better in two weeks!
