Picture-Perfect

Other than that horrendous Bengals loss yesterday, this weekend was picture-perfect. Just what I needed after a not-so-great work week. Friday night Jared had plans to hang with the guys and although I could have scheduled a ladies night out or something, I just honestly wanted some downtime. After work I hit the gym hard, ate hummus and veggies for 'dinner' and spent my evening watching ridiculous shows on Netflix and pinning everything in site. If that doesn't sound like your idea of a great Friday night, you are crazy!!! ;)
So maybe Friday was nothing to write about, but Saturday was definitely a fun-filled day with my man. Jared agreed to go to a couple local craft shows with me - God bless that man! We got an early start and treated ourselves to some yummy drinks for the road. What are weekends without a few treats, right?!
The craft shows were actually a pretty big success and we were able to get some good Christmas shopping done as well as buy some tasty, cheap treats for ourselves! I honestly have no idea what they put on those pretzels, but it might as well have been crack. I wish we'd bought 7 of those containers. SO GOOD.
Since we were on a roll of doing nerdy things together, we jetted just across the street to our library's used book sale. You know me, and I'm a sucker for cheap books! I just can't resist!!
We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping around for Christmas gifts at various places and got quite a few gifts finished and purchased, which always feels good! We know Sallie & Perkins are proud of us for scoping out the sales and even using a couple coupons!!
Feel free to buy me ANY of these adorable candles from Target!!
After lots of shopping, we had dinner reservations at a fun Italian restaurant we'd never tried. Jared's birthday isn't until the 19th, but it was sortof a fancy dinner in honor of his birthday. Since I work all this weekend, and his official birthday event/date isn't until December (details to come!) we wanted to enjoy a fun night out together while we could.
Tony's was INCREDIBLE. Small, intimate and delicious. Everything from the bread, to the main course to the cannoli's for dessert….. melt in your mouth good!!
We felt completely spoiled at this restaurant! Seriously, at least four different waiters and staff members were filling our water glasses, bringing us fresh bread, making sure we were 10000% satisfied--- and we were! While we were eating dessert the actual owner was making his rounds and stopped long enough to tell Jared and I we needed to forgo the forks and just pick up our cannoli's if we wanted to truly enjoy them! Definitely A++ dining experience for us!

Sunday's church was incredible, as always- and we just won't discuss the Bengals loss. The rest of the weekend was too good to let one, ugly game get me down. I hope your weekend was as fun and enjoyable as ours was! Cheers to THIS week being better than the last ;)

I will have to keep Tony's in mind for one of our next trips to Cinci :) Looks delish!

  23. I was *thankfully* at work. So I missed out of watching the atrociousness that was the game yesterday. I think I'd be more angry than I already am ha

  25. I am so happy to hear that about Tony's! It's literally right down the street from our house but we've never been. We have friends in town this weekend and wanted to do a nice dinner out and I have been rooting for Tony's, you may have sealed the deal!!

  26. Not to discuss football too much but how on earth did the Rams beat the Colts? Just don't get it!

I need to go to a few craft fairs :)

  27. PERFECT weekend! Downtime and watching MY shows (because really, there's no way Eric would watch Vampire Diaries with me) without interruption sounds amaaaaazing!
I'm itching for a nice dinner with my man! My small town doesn't really offer anything like that. I guess the upside is that we save a lot of money on not eating out, ha!
p.s. You two are the cutest!

  28. That weekend sounds HEAVENLY to me! If those pretzels are made the way I think they are- they're soaked in popcorn oil for a few days and are so addictive it's dangerous. My mom makes them at Christmas and I have to BEG her to hide them from me. Delish!
