November Goals

Happy November! It's time for a goals list, because who doesn't like the fresh start of a new month and a good list? If there is such a person out there, it's certainly not me!

It's always a little scary putting your goals out there for the "world" to see. In my mind I'm always wondering if you're going to follow up with me when the month's over and demand to see my checklist all happily checked and perfected. I'm assuming not, and since that's the case, let's get on with this list! :)

1. Improve my workouts.
Jared and I have been hitting the gym hard 4-5x a week and really getting after it. I'm starting to see small difference which is really exciting, but I'm ready to take it to the next level. I won't bore you all with the numbers and stats and specific goals, but I'm hoping to be lifting more and running faster by the end of this month.

2. Finish ONE photobook.
You guys, I love making photobooks. You'd never know it though, because I haven't made one since our honeymoon book. (Yes, the vacation we took after our wedding that was almost two and a half years ago.) I want to have a photobook for each year, and I'm only on March 2011 so far. Yikes, talk about behind! I generally use Shutterfly for all my photobooks- does anyone have a company they love??

3. Have our best financial month yet.
This is going to be difficult, but we're really determined to save, save, save this month! I want to be better about checking for coupons before we buy any necessities; I want to work as much as I can on designing and other freelance projects; I want to really follow our budget down to every last penny this month! I'm excited to challenge ourselves and keep working on that debt.

4. Host Friendsgiving.
I've really wanted to have one of these at our house for awhile, but it has never seemed to work out. We have a date in mind and are trying to sort it all out. Let's keep our fingers crossed that everyone's schedules coordinate and that Jared and I can figure out how to cook a turkey!

5. Declutter. A LOT.
November is going to be a somewhat slower month job-wise for me, so I really want to take advantage of our free weekends to do some house projects. I enjoy throwing things away and I'm hoping to get rid of lots of junk, as well as donate plenty of clothes and other items to GoodWill. There is just too much stuff in our house we don't use or want-- time for it to go! Friendsgiving and also hosting Christmas at our house is the motivating factor here!

What are your goals for this month going to be??

  1. Good goals! You know I agree with you 10000% on throwing things out... feels SO good to de-clutter! You know I never make photobooks... I have thousands of photos that live on my computer... not sure what to do with them or how to organize them... guess I should look into those.

  8. I wish we could host a Friendsgiving but it just isn't possible in our home. Also, most of our friends do their own family things and because Rob's family is in Alaska, I try to keep him busy doing stuff with my family.. it sounds like a lot of fun and I look forward to hearing about it! :) Good luck with all of your goals-- if ANYONE can complete their goals-- it's gonna be you!

  10. Aww a friendsgiving sounds so fun!! I hope it works out for you guys :) And I know you will kick butt in the gym and with your finances this month! :) I'm giving myself the goal of not splurging on anything for me this month. While that cute dress at Target is fun to buy, that money should be going to fun christmas presents this year!

  12. Hey Erin. Have you heard of AIM? Not the chat haha the survey place? I saw your Pinterest board about making extra cash and that is a great way. Let me know and I can tell you more if you want.

  13. I love Friendsgiving, but only at someone else's house because a) we host a lot already and b) we host both our families on Thanksgiving.

I'd have to say my big goal for this month is to organize my closet. Ugh, it's a mess.

I use Snapfish for photobooks. And that's another goal because I need to do one for our Europe trip.

  14. We're doing a Friendsgiving this year the weekend before! I'm so exciting, except that Dom went and invited 12 people and our table only seats 6. I'll let you know how that one goes! ;)

  18. I always love publishing my goals because I know it will keep me even more accountable knowing I have to come back in a month and tell the world that I failed or succeeded on certain personal goals. hehe Hope your weekend was great friend. Love you!

  23. Oh my goodness, I know what you mean about the photobooks! I was doing so good with them for a bit and now I'm failing. I have our wedding book and then books for 2010 and 2011...seeing as though 2013 is almost over, I need to catch up too!
