Can't Stay Down Long

As much as I'd love to do a happy dance and just gush over Friday and the weekend ahead, I don't have it in me today. This week? This week has sucked. No sugar-coating here, it just hasn't been a good time in the world of Erin. Some up's and down's, mostly down's have caused me some serious stress this week. One minute laughing, one minute a complete wreck over some bad news, or another disappointment.

Even when life gets me down, I'm a person that can't stay there too long. It's depressing!! Life is full of rough stuff, but its full of the good stuff too if you just push through the hard parts. So today, I'm going to reflect on the few moments this week that were smile-worthy and laugh-worthy because those reasons are what keep me going.
-- Take Wednesday for example. It's almost the very end of the work day and I noticed a small bulge around the knee of my skinny leg pants. I duck behind my desk and I press on it, find it to be soft and squishy and immediately start scooching and rearranging my pant-leg to get it out. It- being a pair of my underwear!! You know how laundry sometimes gets tangled up and stuck within other items of clothing? Yeah- that happened and it took me all day to notice. I'm choosing to be thankful it didn't fall out the bottom of my pants while walking around the office. Only me!

-- Or the insane dream I had about the CFO of our company this week. Yes- this does mean I work too much when I'm dreaming about 60 year old men I work with. My dream was crazy vivid and involved Jared and I meeting up with him for line dancing lessons. I woke myself up laughing. Someone, interpret this, please.

-- Or when my sister-in-law delivered an adorable bag full of all yellow things, to be a bag of "sunshine" to cheer me up. I'm so happy Sweedish Fish come in a yellow box :)

-- Or when I went to get in my car this morning and I scared the neighbor's cat so badly that I'm confident she jumped in the air about 5 feet before she ran off. I do look pretty scary in the mornings, so I can't blame the cat ;)

What has made you smile or laugh this week? I'd love a few more reasons to cheer up this Friday!!

  11. Well first off your underwear in the pants issue just made me smile, it's kind of funny if you think about it.

Finding some blog inspiration and getting some planning and organizing done made me smile, sometimes it's hard to be creative every day but this week I just felt like I was on top of my game.

  21. Apparently we were on the same brain wavelength today because I wrote a very similar post.

As I read the underwear one I thought you were gonna say you found a bug, so all things considered I guess it could have been worse. haha

  25. I have had a couple of crazy vivid (and not good) dreams this past week or so, I don't know what's up with that. Glad your dream was at least on the good side! haha! I loved your bag full of sunshine. It made ME smile just seeing the picture of it.
Sorry things have you down, I'm on the fence myself, it's weird.
Wish I could help cheer you up, can't think of many really smile worth moments other than I finally received a poster that I won in a pumpkin carving contest & having a sliver of much needed alone time and getting to have a little more between now and Sunday.
    Smile pretty lady!
    :-)
