I'm an Aunt!

This post. OH, this post and how I've wanted to write it for so long. I've wanted to shout it from the rooftops is a more accurate way to put it. Some of you that have been around awhile may have read this post of mine back in May about adoption. If you haven't- you may want to start there first, but the short version is this: My sister and brother-in-law have been waiting to adopt for quite some time and were matched with a newborn baby girl back in April. They brought her home and had her for two weeks before the agency contacted them saying the adoption had basically fallen through, and that they'd have to bring the baby back.

Obviously we were heartbroken. Floored. Overwhelmed. For about two-three days I couldn't think of anything but this precious child and my hurting sister. To keep things brief and also to not over share information I shouldn't, they were able to keep the baby. They've had her all along. They didn't have to take the baby back to the agency. They were seen as an interim family until June. In June they were able to sign all the adoption placement paperwork and now they're just waiting for everything to get finalized. They have a court date soon that should make this sweet baby officially their's and we are all waiting anxiously for that day.
Oh, and that 'party' I threw back in June? The adorable caterpillar one? That was my sister and her family's first visit here that I got to meet and fall in love with my adorable niece and we threw them a baby shower. For privacy reasons I'm not allowed to share her name or her pictures on here yet--- possibly ever, but let me tell you all: she is perfect and I'm literally counting the days until I get to see her again. She'll be almost 6 months old by the time I see her again! It sucks more than ever that they don't live nearby.

It's hard being a first-time aunt and not being able to tell and share with the world. I mean, that's what we bloggers do right?! Over-share, everything!! So I'll have to stick with sharing my joy, because my heart is overflowing with joy for my sister, my brother-in-law and the perfect little addition to their family. I would ask for your prayers as they continue to finalize everything in the coming months.

And just to prove that she does in fact exist.... here's me meeting lil miss for the first time when she was 2 months old! Isn't she the cutest??? ;)
