Dinner party!

You know me. I love celebrating birthdays. Excessively! So last night we had Kayla & Caleb over for a little pre-birthday dinner in honor of K's big 22nd coming up tomorrow. The menu was a crockpot Italian chicken + veggies dish that was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself ;)
And what birthday would be complete without a birthday wish on a store bought cookies and cream cake?! :)

After a couple small gifts, we sat around talked for hours together. I truly feel blessed to have family so close to us. Both physically and emotionally! We can share anything with Kayla and Caleb and know that we've got people supporting us and cheering for us no matter what! No topic is ever off-limits with them and it's great to be able to open up to each other. Not only that, but we have a freakin' blast together, every time we're together. We may have a couples vacation plan in the works for sometime next year and I'm already about to burst with excitement over that one!

I love that we sortof started this tradition this past April when they had us over for my birthday dinner at their new place! Just dinner with our BFFs/family and good conversation. I look forward to many, many more birthday celebrations with our sweet family!

Oh- and if you need me tonight, I'll be freaking out in black and orange. The Bengals play tonight! WHODEY.

  9. Do you have a recipe for the chicken dish? Looks yummy! I tried one from Pinterest not too long ago and it was a dud :( I wish my husband had siblings so I had someone like Kayla. TG for good friends, mine just live too far away.

  17. I love that you guys are so close. I always dreamed that when I married into a family, that we would be that close. Rob isn't close with his Brother (especially since they are in AK) but he is with his father and stepmother-- I have loved them deeply since the moment I met them. I call them both mom and dad and treasure them as they were my own blood. The bond that you all share is so special!! I'm glad you have that! PS- the dinner "decorations" are soooo prettiful (and YES I do say that word often).. the dinner looked delish. Rob and I both enjoy that type of food and would be more than happy to come over any night of the week works ;) XOXOXOXO
