Simple & Satisfying

Well, it happened. I officially had the greatest, most simple yet satisfying weekend ever! It really is amazing how the most simple things can bring us the most joy sometimes, am I right?!

Friday night Jared and I just stayed in. I cooked us up some crispy, BBQ chicken that was seriously delicious (if I do say so myself!) and we treated ourselves to a lil' spa night in! Yes, we treated ourselves to some $1.99 mud masks and it was way too fun. We played some Wii games and watched a movie with our uber-clean faces before calling it a night ;) We know, we're some wild ones!

Saturday was a "me-day" since Jared would be with his brother's bachelor party the entire day. I took this opportunity to finally find my bridesmaid shoes for the wedding, shop around at Marshall's and just enjoy the beautiful day. Once I was back home I may have watched two Lifetime movies in a row while getting some laundry done. Okay, okay... I definitely did, and it was glorious! I can't remember the last time I just let myself relax and enjoy some TV. Usually, I feel too guilty about just "sitting around" but not this time! It was a much needed day of nothing-ness.

Sunday consisted of church with Jared and visiting many of the great women in my life: My mom and both my grandmothers. The only one missing was my sister.... can you please move closer, by the way?! :)

Did you spend some time with the great women in your life this weekend? Was it a jam-packed weekend or did you just catch up on your DVR like me? ;)

  2. I love the mud mask idea! Such a fun thing to do! Also, lifetime moves are one of my favorite guilty pleasures! Nothing better then sub-par acting and disturbing story lines :) They are addicting! Looks like a fun and relaxing weekend!

  8. Best.Weekend.Ever. Lifetime TOTALLY sucks you in. I'll make the mistake of turning it on when I'm trying to clean and then whoops, a movie later I haven't moved. haha.

  22. Love the face mask/spa treatment night with your hunny idea!! I know that my guy would probably be into that as I've been catching him plucking ingrown hairs lately and we like to hang out at the house with each other (that's happens when one of you is looking for a job and BOTH of you are saving money for a big move to Alaska). While I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend, I can't say that I've ever sat still long enough to watch two Lifetime movies-- I did watch the season finale to Welcome to Myrtle Manor, The Breakfast Club, and Big! Oh and I was able to talk my guy into laying out by the pool with me!
You look great in the pics-- Have a great week! PS- where are the face mask photos? hehe

  23. Kudos to Jared for participating in a mini spa at home. They only thing Keith enjoys is my lotion on his feet but I think if he would actually do something spa-ish he'd really enjoy it.
