Magic Monday

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had as good of a weekend as I did. I love those weekends that are the perfect mix of productiveness and relaxation. Every weekend should be like that!

Before I continue on, two orders of business ;) First off- if you missed my post on Saturday I would be SO grateful if you took a minute to read it and see if you could help in any way. Whether it's signing up for the awesome 5k, donating to the cause or just simply sharing it on your blog, twitter, etc.... every little bit helps!

Secondly- I could not be more proud of my husband right now. He ran his first ever half-marathon this weekend!! There is nothing like seeing your best friend accomplish something incredible... I won't lie, I had tears in my eyes when I saw him approaching the finish line with his brother. I also feel more motivated than ever to focus on running and become a more active part of the running community.... I'm telling you, there is NOTHING like it. I had so much fun cheering on strangers, giving high-5's to runners and just watching couples, families, friends cross that finish line together!

And yes, friends.... I'm now back to talking a little more Disney on this blog. I know you're probably thinking "Goodness, how long can one chick talk about Disneyworld?!" Well the answer is... a couple more days. That's what happens when you do 6 days in the parks and take 800+ photos ;)

Besides- I haven't talked about the Magic Kingdom yet, which is possibly the most magical park of all. Don't get me wrong, we loved every park... but there was just something special about walking down Main Street and seeing that first view of the castle! Plus- we did MK two days in a row, for double the fun!
Jared was EXCITED!!
There she is!!! :)
Some of the morning highlights included the "It's a small world" ride... such a classic!

The brand new Little Mermaid ride in Fantasyland. It's amazing how "fun" Disneyworld can make the queue line. We didn't wait in much of one, but there were tons of things to look at, watch, listen to as you go through the line.

Eating at Gaston's Tavern (also in the brand new Fantasyland) was too fun! We stopped in here both days we visited Magic Kingdom.

This GIANT cinnamon roll was delicious!! It counted as a "snack" on our dining plan so you know Jared and I each had one of these...... What?! We're on vacation!

I swear there is a parade 2-3 times a day in Disneyworld.... and I'm definitely okay with that!

I think Pluto spotted my Pluto shirt I was wearing that day so he came right over to us! ;)

Then..... THEN came one of our favorite moments from the entire trip. Jared and I had dinner reservations for the "Be our Guest" castle, straight out of Beauty and the Beast. The restaurant theming was INCREDIBLE and we got to eat in the West Wing!!

Not only was that an amazing streak, but somehow those were the best fries I've ever had in my life. Seriously- I wish I knew what they did to them!!

Having dessert wheeled right to our table was fun, and yummy but the best part came after I ate that strawberry cupcake...

Since I had my birthday pin on, the waiter brought me out THE GREY STUFF. You know... try the grey stuff, it's delicious... don't believe us? Ask the dishes?! I seriously had a mini freak-out at our table before blowing out the candle and eating that cute lil' dollop. And yes, it's delicious! ;)

And as if things couldn't get any better... just as we're finishing up? We hear dramatic music and in comes the Beast himself!!! We knew it was possible for him to make an appearance during the day, but there's no schedule to it, so we lucked out!

So on our way out we were able to see the main ballroom and MEET the Beast.

And I had to share this screenshot a Disney Photopass member took of us. The Beast was SO cute, he hugged us, bowed and twirled me around... yes, I look ridiculous, but we were having so much fun!!

Disney's Electrical Parade and fireworks ended the night for us:

Like I said, we came back for Day 2 in the Magic Kingdom first thing the next morning. We just couldn't get enough ;)

I loved "Goofini" and his fun pose when we met him! Another example of us being at the right place at the right time... there was no line and we were first to meet him.

Warning, you WILL want to buy one of every food item you see while in DisneyWorld!

We stopped in Gaston's Tavern for the second time... and this time, we HAD to try LeFou's Brew. Best beverage I've ever tasted... hands down. It's apple juice slushie mixed with toasted marshmallow flavors and topped with mango-passionfruit foam on top. OMG.

PS- Lefou's Brew also counts as a snack on your Disney Dining Plan!! So worth it :)

Our dinner that night was at Tony's, the restaurant from Lady and the Tramp!

Seriously?! How cute!!!

Leaving the Magic Kingdom was hard, for real. We spent approximately 28 hours there (yes, we're crazy!) and already can't wait to go back!!

  1. No Space Mountain?? Splash Mountain?

  2. I am just starting to catch up on all your Disney posts, but it looks like you guys had such an amazing time. It makes me want to take the kids SO bad! I'm thinking when Kyla is 4 and Kase is 2 will be perfect. And you can count on me asking for your advice for where to visit, where to eat, where to stay, etc. You sound like a Disney expert :)

  3. I have to say that I would love to go to Disney as an adult. I went when I was 14...thats it. Your pictures make me realize I need to make that a definite on the to-do list. That cinnamon roll looks fantastic.

  4. JARED! You ran a half marathon! You're a beast.

Speaking of Beasts, you dancing with the Beast is adorable. Love it all.

  5. Congrats to your hubby! Running is the best!
Now I want to go to Disney! My husband have never been and it's been 14 years since I last went. :)

  6. OH MY GOODNESS! This would have been my favorite place as well! YOU MET THE BEAST! That's my ALL TIME favorite Disney movie! DYING!!!!!

  7. Love that we got to watch Jared & Caleb cross the finish line together!! Soo sweet. Can't wait to do it next year... we must!! ;)

OMG that picture of the beast twirling you is amazing. HA! Best of all!!

  8. i think that these disney posts need to go on past this week because i am LOVING them! ;)

  9. The secret to SUPER delish fries are duck fat (yes, I'm serious!).. frying them in duck fat makes them EXTRAordinary! There are plenty of places that make them that way. We have a place here, Hopjacks (Pensacola, FL) that are not only "famous" for their pizzas and tons of beers but for the duck fat fries! I betcha that's how they were cooked! Great pics!

  10. Congrats to Jared!

I love that you got to have "the grey stuff." We'll definitely have to try the Be Our Guest restaurant, as that's Aaron's favorite Disney movie (though he has a soft spot for Lady and the Tramp as well).

  11. I have enjoyed every. single. one. of your Disney posts! It seriously looks like a blast, and I actually have fun just reading them :) So so so glad you had such an amazing birthday vacation!

  12. Okay. It's official. I need to go to Disney ASAP. I love all of your pictures! It looks like you had SO MUCH FUN!!! And OMG I am soooooo jealous that you ate at the Beauty & the Beast castle!!!! That's my fave Disney movie ever ever :) I want to try the grey stuff!

  13. I'm running my first half marathon this weekend! Congrats to your hubs! I totally get tears in my eyes at the finish line of races too, ha! There's something so special about them :)

  14. I think I'd eat 500 million of those cinnamon rolls while on vacay. I don't blame you at all!

  15. This looks like so much fun! Congrats to your husband on his half!

  16. Disney is so fun. Super jealous of your adventure

  17. This looks like such a fantastic trip!!

  18. I was going to comment asking if you tried LeFou's brew, BUT YOU DID! omg that stuff is so good! I've been slacking with keeping up with your posts, but I'm back to read about all the fun that you had! The confectionary in MK has one of my favorite cookies, it's a white chocolate raspberry chip and so yummy. Also, those huge cinnamon rolls are delish. I'm in the talks with some of my college program friends trying to find time for us to do a reunion trip and I'm so excited. i'm so glad that you had a great time!!

  19. Love this! I'm glad I came across your blog, we are going to Disney next month and this was actually really helpful, too. :)

  20. You two are so dang cute. I'm starting to sound like a broken record but I am seriously jealous of your trip! And congrats to J on his half! That's awesome!!!

  21. I love all these updates. I want to go NOW!!!! Breanna is sitting here w. me and she is naming ALL the characters!

  22. LeFou's brew is seriously delicious! When we were there in October they were doing what they called a dress rehearsal of New Fantasyland. We got to go on the Little Mermaid ride and also do the storytelling part with Belle, but the Be Our Guest restaurant wasn't open yet. I was so sad. But we definitely loved stopping in at Gaston's Tavern and having LeFou's brew! Yum!!!!!!!! So glad you guys had such a great time. I am definitely going to have to remember to come back and look at your posts next time we go to Disney. You guys did so many things that I didn't even realize were there.

  23. lucky you guys with the reservations for be our guest AND the beast! nice!

  24. Marry Poppins! Seriously, I need to go to Disney. NOW.

  25. Your Disney trip looked perfect! My boyfriend hasn't been there since he was 4 years I'm thinking a Disney trip is in the plans soon!

  26. That is awesome you got to see the Beast! So cool! I would love to go to Magic Kingdom without the kids. They just don't last all day. And I totally teared up at John's first half too.

  27. I may or may not have sang "Be Our Guest" in my head as I was reading that part... ;)

  28. oh my gosh, soooo sooo fun! that beauty and the beast dinner looks so cool!
