Life Lately

Finally! The longest work-week ever has come to an end. Happy, Happy Friday!!!

Life has legit just been GOOD lately. It just seems like everything is going in the right direction. I feel like Jared and I have been powering ahead with our goals since we got back from vacation and I love it. Not only have we dug our way out of the largest laundry-mountain in history...

...We've made time to write, catch up with some friends and cook more in the past couple of weeks. The kitchen? It's seriously my happy place. Cooking is incredibly satisfying and relaxing to me! Especially since we've been making much more of an effort to cook healthy dishes and cook enough to bring tasty leftovers with us to work each day.

Since we're eating healthier, the next step has been to get ON TRACK with working out and stay there. Why, oh WHY is it so hard for me to want to work out?? Today I got up and ran/walked 3.5 miles before work and it felt great! And yes, this is DISGUSTING, but I wanted proof so Ashley won't hound me anymore ;)

If only I could hold onto that feeling and get up and do that every day. I do love reading motivational blog friends talk about their workout habits, like Halie and Jen. I need all the help I can get! Anyone else a fitness junkie that I should be taking notes from?

This weekend? I'm looking forward to some quality time with Jared tonight; and tomorrow having most of the day to myself to cook, clean, organize, read or just do whatever the heck I want. Jared will be out celebrating with his brother for the bachelor party so it's a "me day" and I can't wait! I'm excited about church on Sunday followed by time with my mom and both my grandma's for Mother's Day.

Like I said, life is just good. It might be simple, but it's good.

That's so awesome that you did 3.5 miles BEFORE work! I wish I could be that motivated to do it before work, rather than after. I'll have to take notes from you!

  13. Me days are the BEST! Aaron is going out of town next weekend, but my brother and niece are coming IN to town so my "me" time is now limited. It will be fun, but still...

  20. I hate laundry. It is never ending. Glad you guys were able to get it done though. And I know how you feel about working out. I have the hardest time getting myself used to it, but now that I have, it feels awesome. Myself and another blogger have been hosting a fitness link up on Thursdays to help keep ourselves accountable and it seems to be working pretty well for us. We aren't fitness junkies, but we are trying to be, haha!

  27. The laundry pile is one of the worst things about coming home from vacation, but I am so glad that life is good and you are feeling so happy. :) Enjoy your me day!

  28. Good job with the run! I've been needing to exercise lately and my only excuse has been that our condo, for some reason, refuses/forgets to replace the light in the workout room. Usually I cook healthy but the Mister really like to fry stuff.. I've been trying to stray from that and add more veggies into the mix which seems to be working. I'm sending you lots of motivational vibes and I hope that you enjoy your weekend and "me time"!!

  29. I seriously need to get better on the working out too. My work life has just been so crazy though. (I worked a 60 hour week this week) I know everyone has excuses but for someone who doesn't have the passion to get up and go work out, it makes it all the more harder! You sound like you are doing great! Keep it up girlfriend!!
