It's been awhile

Okay, so it's only been a few days- but I feel like I've been gone from work and from my blog for a LONG while! I'm pretty sure that's a good sign I was living it up this past weekend :)

Good Friday my office ended up closing early --a super rare occurrence-- and Jared and I headed out to dinner with my parents at a restaurant none of us had ever been to. The Meritage did not disappoint:  the food was absolutely amazing, the service was great (the waiters had us cracking up at a couple points) and it was super cute inside!

My cute parents!
Wow I need a haircut badlyyyy!
Seriously- the steaks were SO tasty, and my twice-baked potato was probably the best thing I've ever eaten. We also all split a delicious dessert, but I forgot to take a picture as we were all diving in! ;)

After dinner we all attended an Easter play at a local church. Easter is seriously one of my favorite holidays, so of course I loved the play!

Saturday was the date of all dates for Jared and I. Other than grabbing Mexican food regularly (which I am definitely okay with), we hadn't been "out" on a fun date in awhile! Shameful, I know

Jared was so cute and planned the whole day for us.... starting with a 3.1 mile run! What a date, right?! ;) In all honesty, I'm glad he 'made' me start my day that way because it felt great!!! I haven't run that far in well over a year, and yes I'm still hurting from that 2 days later, but it was a huge accomplishment for me!
After our run we had a quick lunch and got ready for the rest of the day. Our next stop? Bowling!! I was so pumped! Bowling used to be a pretty regular date night for us, but again- it's been FOREVER since we went. Plus, Jared's date coupon book I made him a couple months ago included a bowling coupon- so it was the perfect time for him to use it.

We bowled at a little hole-in-the-wall alley, which I actually loved! You can see the ENTIRE bowling alley in this picture, yes- there were only 12 lanes!

That ball brought me some serious luck... I bowled the best game of my life, and sorry Jared- I have to brag just a little ;)

Next on the list for our day was visiting a local CASTLE. A real, legit castle!!! I'm serious! For just a couple bucks you get to explore the castle and the grounds-- we had the perfect day for it!

After exploring, we tried a new sushi place -- amazing food, crappy server. You win some you lose some, right?!

The night concluded with playing cards and watching basketball...OSU, you're dead to us right now!

Sunday- no pictures, just an amazing church service, crockpot cooking, a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, and dinner and fun with our brother/sister-in-law!

This weekend was one for the books... I am one blessed gal!
