First Up

First, I must say, I was a little jealous of all the love you guys showed Jared yesterday ;) It's clear who has the blogging talent in this household now!! I was so proud of his first ever blog post and I'm pretty sure we can work him into a regular schedule of guest posting.
Oh, how I love that man ♥

****************************************
Don't you love it when you're having one of those days in the blog world... you're not too sure what to write about.... Sure, you've got topics and ideas swirling around in your brain, but maybe they are more suited for Friday's post. Or once you get better pictures next week. Etc...

And then BAM! A fave blogger of yours is hosting a fun link-up and you're all "OH! SIGN ME UP!"

What, just me?! ;)

Anyway- I'm linking up with Halie today about some random 'firsts' in my life!

1. First speeding ticket or traffic accident
I am very proud to say I've never gotten a speeding ticket. I am NOT so proud to say that I have talked my way out of them a couple of times and gotten off with just a verbal warning. Sorry, Mom, and thank you, officers!

As far as accidents, when we were kids we were victims of a hit and run but luckily none of us were hurt. Two Christmas' ago someone rear-ended us on the way to my Grandma's but again, no injuries. I feel very fortunate!!!

Oh yeah- and once a dumb teenager hit my PARKED CAR at Chipotle and did close to $3k worth of damange.... She probably shouldn't be on the road!!

2. First BIG accomplishment you're proud of
Getting a Master's degree was something I never thought I'd do, so to have completed that by the time I was  just 23, is a pretty huge accomplishment to me!

I also take pride in landing the job that I did with no 'connections' or help from family, friends etc. So many people I work with got their foot in the door with help from someone else.... and don't get me wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with that. Had I had a connection in this industry, I would have used it. However, I didn't! And the fact that I went after a dream job and wrangled it in... well, heck yes I'm pretty darn proud of that! :)

3. First thing you usually reach for in the fridge
Let's be honest... since Jared and I don't keep snacks/unhealthy food in the house, I generally open the fridge and stare into it longingly. Wishing something tasty and unhealthy will suddenly appear. It never works, fyi. So when I open the fridge? It's usually for some water and lemon to squeeze in it!

Are you linking up today?
I'd love to know what YOUR biggest accomplishment is!!

  1. That is awesome about landing the job you got!!!

I think my biggest accomplishment is having Breanna, as cliche as it may seem!

  7. You go girl for never getting a ticket! I got my first one a couple months ago by a van that takes pictures of your license plate and then they mail you a ticket. I feel like it'd be less annoying if it was by an actual cop and not receiving it in the mail.

  8. Hell, I'm in my 40's and I can't think of a big accomplishment. Sad. But I will say that I've never had a car accident while driving, EXCEPT when I backed my car into the outside of my garage. That was brilliant.

  10. Love your pics! It's a tie for me on biggest accomplishments... I was the first person in my family on my mother's side to earn a bachelor's degree, that was a pretty big deal around here; and of course this is tied with having my children, they are my best work :)

I actually didn't blog today because I just wasn't feeling any of it (and I'm saying this with 6 drafts ready to be worked on!) Congrats on your Masters--how awesome!?

Ummm, yeah...that was totally me today. I made a recipe last night and had the post written out....but the photos looked like baby vomit - then my lights went out so I couldn't attempt better ones. So glad this link-up popped up!

  24. Also, I love your dumb teenager remark. I was rear ended by a spoiled brat in a nice new celica daddy bought her (this was clearly a few years back)...anyway, she gets out of her car, approaches me, and says....

    "Sorry, I forgot to brake."

    aggggh!

  25. I have never even been pulled over by a cop, which astonishes Kevin to no end! Way to go on the dream job! I am desperate to find my dream job at this point. Where are you connection?!? haha!

  26. I've only received one ticket and it was because I rear-ended someone. Oops! And although it took me longer to receive my Associate's degree, I'm proud of the fact that I'm the first one in 3 generations to get my college degree. :)

  27. Yay! So glad you linked up!! :)And dang girl, masters degree and dream job when you were my age?! I need to get going!! You're awesome!

  28. Such a fun link up! You must feel so proud of yourself for your success in getting your Master's degree and landing (what sounds like) a dream job! It's so much easier to eat healthy foods if that's all that you keep in your house. Recently my husband and I decided to lose some weight, so I moved a bunch of junk food to a rarely used closet, and now don't even thing about it. Out of sight, out of mind!

  29. Wow, getting a Master's degree and a great job at 23 is quite impressive. I'm almost 25 and trying to get a decent "real" job with an Associate's.
I've learned that it's "who you know, not what you know" a lot of times...so you were lucky to get a job based on your own skills!

  30. Very impressive about having your Master's at 23! I earned mine at 24 but haven't done anything with it yet. New follower here, LOVE your blog! Stopping by from runninglikeamother.com :)
