My whirlwind weekend

I am one billion percent exhausted today. Most of you have been seeing my complaints comments about having to work a l-o-o-o-n-g stretch of days in a row, and I'm finally almost to the end of that. My boss ended up surprising me by giving me this past Saturday off which was a HUGE help. I worked around my house like a crazy woman all morning- dusting, vacuuming, cleaning out the fridge (sick!) and doing laundry.

Then I took a mini road trip about 45 minutes away to my cousin's baby shower. I did all the appropriate ooh-ing and ahh-ing over baby girl clothes and also got to play with the sweetest little 10-month-old ever. And I can't forget, that of COURSE I won one of the games -- and my mom won the other! Ha- apparently we take games VERY seriously at parties.

Then it was back home to have our faves over for game night & snacks. Once again, Jared dominated Monopoly, but I'm happy to say this time I came in a close second ;) ONE DAY I shall win! Ps- Jared ate the world's largest Reese cup that night...
don't worry, we all helped!

Sunday was spent at the greatest stadium in the U.S. seeing my Bengals beat up on the defending Super Bowl Champs... WHOOP WHOOP! 31-13 victory felt GREAT! They did a lot of cool stuff pre-game and at halftime to honor the Veterans. There was a 'card stunt' during the National Anthem.... over 50,000 people participated. Here's the shot I got prior to the gates opening.
Pretty cool!

Sunday after the game I managed to fit in a 40 minute nap, then it was immediately over to the in-laws for a dinner meeting of sorts. There are a lot of things going on in Jared's family right now, some good, some bad... some that we are all unsure about, but I think it was helpful to at least get everything out in the open and talk to one another. Here's hoping the next few weeks can bring some closure and clarity for everyone!

  1. I just want to say that men would not be too pleased if women took a whole month off from shaving...Remind him of that! Haha!

  2. Ugh, my husband always thinks he needs to do the no shave November too. It's usually about now that he gives up though because it drives him crazy. So I'm hoping he'll save soon. He looks a little ridiculous :)

I hope this week goes fast for you and you will be able to get some relaxation in this weekend!

By the way, LOVE the new blog design. That picture up top is beautiful!

That's really nice that your boss gave you a day off. It sounds like you needed it! That reeses cup looks amazing!

  11. Be happy its only for November:)
My hubby has always had facial hair since before we dated. I'm also nervous for him to shave it because what if he looks weird lol
He has either been in college or self employed so he has never had a reason where he had to shave it off. He trims it but has always had facial hair.

  18. I'm so glad you found my blog! I too am a HUGE Cincinnati fan. Living in Southwest Ohio nearly all of my life, I've never really had a choice. I'm still mourning the Reds loss but Spring training is fast approaching!
