Remember

Today I'm especially grateful for all of those in the military who sacrifice so much for us. And grateful for all the men and women who ran into the buildings to help on 9-11, 11 years ago today. Today, please take a moment to remember the lives lost, and the families affected deeply by this tragedy.

Despite how rude and awful we are to each other, and despite political disagreements, we still live in a country where some are willing to sacrifice their lives for one another. And for that, I am thankful.

This is J's cousin, Dillan. He had been serving in Afghanistan when last month he and his squad were hit by an IED while on foot. Many of them lost limbs and were severely injured. Dillan himself was injured, thankfully no lost limbs, but he had surgery on his arms, took shrapnel to the face and his eardrums were blown. Dillan also helped a few people get out of the blast and will be awarded a purple heart.

He is now back in the U.S. on his base, healing and recovering. Please say a prayer for Dillan and the rest of his squad that were involved in this attack. Dillan and his squad are true heroes and I am thankful to have people like Dillan and his squadmates protecting our home. We love you, Dill!!!

  1. Prayers for a full recovery for your husband's cousin. We can never thank our military enough for their service. I am blessed to have my papaw, daddy & fiance as police officers and my little brother is a firefighter - not to mention several family members in the military. We can just never thank these people enough. Never forget.
